Is a free trial available on PS3?

My girlfriend is interested in playing, but all she has is a PS3 and a pretty crappy laptop. I was looking, but I couldn't find the information anywhere. I only saw a PC download. It'd be pretty dumb to only have it on PC considering you have two other platforms for the game...

Does noone visit Lodestone? There is a free trial that doesn't involve buying the game... at least for the PC. There's also a referral program but that relies on your invitee subscribing after the trial. As for PS3, I can't seem to find one as yet. Doesn't mean there won't be one up after this coming Tuesday.

The free trial is likely only in place for PC only at the moment because they probably have to 'work with' Sony to launch it for a PS3/4 since the PlayStation network is a closed platform operated by Sony, whereas the PC is not so they can do what they want with it.

Don't hold your breath for Sony to bend on anything. They won't even unlatch FFXIV from PSN so PS3/4 players can play while PSN is down. If you aren't logged in before a maintenance you're SOL due simply to the fact the game has to go through Sony's authentication system when you log in. I know XIV is a game and thus has to follow Sony's rules for games, but I don't see why they couldn't put in an exception and treat it like Netflix etc. that work even when PSN is down.
