Does anyone have high enough dCUL to tear apart a "Better Crowned Pie"?

Is there a reason to use WVR to desyn those wedding stuff over LTW? I have 70 WVR and I don't really feel like wasting my time leveling up LTW.

The WVR pieces are more expensive than the LTW ones, and thus it's more costly per Fieldcraft III, but the Vanya cloth is both much more heavily in demand and much more valuable. dLTW will save a bit of money, but unless you intend to desynth for Allagan Leather or make a truly massive number of FCIIIs, dWVR will do fine. This is especially true for the larger servers, where FCIII are selling just barely over cost anyway.

Awesome! I never noticed the Better Crowned Pies were desynthable. That's interesting. They're r110 though, so that's going to be hard to desynth. My wife just bought one from the MB and tried (with a 22.5% chance), and succeeded! It gave... an Electrum Ring. Wait, what? The description says it was "Baked using Talan's own special recipe." And then we find rings in the pie, and suddenly Sweeny Todd comes to mind ("Have a Little Priest" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnnVd3wgTX0). Now my wife is shouting, "OMG! PIES ARE PEOPLE!" It also gave a Water Cluster. The important part (for us) is, it gave her 0.7 desynth skill. Not bad for an item that only costs two leve allowances.

Now to find the cheapest level 45 tradecraft levequest... Or, better yet, get them for free via level 45 BTN/MIN/FSH leves!

What Gry'wo said. I did the math for my server, and Bridesmaid's Sandals (LTW desynth) gives on average 2700 gil profit for every item desynthed. Bridesmaid's Tights (WVR desynth) gives on average 6,000 gil profit for every item desynthed. Meaning, WVR is currently twice as good for making money as LTW timewise and the same profit per gil invested. Of course, Twinthread is 3k NQ, 8k HQ on my server right now... Not sure what spiked it from it's old value of 1k/2k, or how long it'll stay that high.

Mastercraft Demimateria have spiked on at least a couple servers, a good deal of the Twinthread is going to Silver Brocade and Artisan Needle crunching. With Sealant prices dropping dramatically, there's gonna be a lot more demand for Forager's, Artisan's, and Supra upgrades.

Now to find the cheapest level 45 tradecraft levequest... Or, better yet, get them for free via level 45 BTN/MIN/FSH leves!

The FSH levequests are pretty expensive right now -- even Ishguardian Bass are going for a lot on the market boards, and most of the other FSH leves are worse. Miner/Botanist are probably the cheapest options if you're in the right level range. May be worth carrying the stuff to do CUL's Mulled Tea and Button in a Blanket, and GSM's Electrum Needle and Amber Ring, since I /have/ seen points where all of the gathering leves were not awarding tokens. Most of the other options are either 3x turnins or require many more intermediate crafts.

Also, that's more support for the idea that BSM desynth (CRP turn-ins) is the best for MCDs due to the overabundance of Spruce Lumber from LTW desynth (the only other ingredient is essentially buyable from the Kobold vendor). I should finish getting my BSM desynth up now that we can max three crafts - I've been stuck in the high 80s forever.

Very good advice! Huh, that's also a good way to make money for level 45+ FSH. I haven't done the math yet, but the LTW options aren't bad (Hunting Moccasins and Raptorskin Thighboots). Last I checked, they about as cheap to make as the CUL, which were selling for 10k+ on the MB. I'll do the math soon.

As a followup: If you're collecting Better Crowned Pies for CUL desynth (and you're on my server, no clue what prices are on other servers), the cheapest leves to use (apart from BTN/MIN leves) are:

After that, it goes up to 3.2k (Deviled Eggs) and up from there. WVR is the worst for this, by the way - the cheapest WVR leve level 45 leve right now is 7,886! But anyway, 3.3k-4.5k per r110 desynth makes CUL the easiest class to get from 95 to 110. Assuming, of course, you don't care about your leve allowances.

Alternatively, if you don't want to spend leve allowances on this (or are out), you can also use 3,600 GC seals per Better Crowned Pie. As a 1* BTN and level 50 ALC, you can get 15,825 GC seals every 72 minutes (harvest 25x NQ Trilium Bulbs, Vampire Plants, and Thavnarian Mistletoe and craft them into Madman's Whispering Rods, which you can trade in for 633 GC seals each) which gives you 4.4 Better Crowned Pies per hour, and you don't have to spend the whole hour working for it (about 3 minutes per node, 3 nodes for the harvesting, ~15 seconds per 5-step synth (2-step mat + 3-step item), 25 synths, = only ~1/5th of your time spent doing this). The 6x Water Crystals and 3x Lightning Crystals per synth may get expensive though if many people are doing this (the lightning crystals are already up to 400 gil each on my server). Even if you send a retainer out for the crystals, they can only get 30 per 40 mins, and you're burning through 225 per 72 mins.

So those Splintered Chests you can get from dungeons (Sastasha I think?) that are used to make the Dead Man's Chest are desynthable. Little too rare and expensive on my server to just buy em to break em, but anyone know what they desynth into?

Shoot, you're right, sorry about that! For some reason, I keep mixing up the costs of the 4,000 seal Moonstones and 600 seal tokens in my head and thinking they're 6,000 seal Moonstones and 400 seal tokens. I'll edit the post above redoing the math, in case anyone actually cares about the math.

Oh, that's interesting! It'll be a while before the price is low enough for it to be worth it, but I'm really curious what they'd give. Of course, it's unlikely they give anything amazing. The best items they could really give (as r90 wood/metal items) are Seagrot Seawater, Ebony/Cypress logs, Darksteel Ingots, Treated Spruce Lumber, Wolfram Ingots/Squares, Ancient Lumber, and 2x FC3s. It'll be a long time before any of those items are worth more than the chests themselves (unless you get like, multiple crafted philo mats).

For reference, the Splintered Chests are ARM desynth (not CRP - weird) and r90.

not sure if anyone saw it but aperetnly you can no longer desynth ilvl 100 pvp gear
