Desynthesis Endgame Guide

I have another question for you guys. My weaver is level 70 and my weaver desynth is around 222. I can reasonably desynth the Hailstorm Gloves of Casting/Healing (level 60, i230). However, I tried to desynth the Serge Apron (level 66, i230) and I can't. It is desynthesizable but my chance is 0. Why is this, considering the battle gloves are the same ilevel?

Have you tried desynthing Bloodhempen battle class gear (level 60 to craft)? Crafter gear scales differently than battle gear, so they may have altered desynth on it.

It's because an item's ilvl is not the same as the level used for desynthing. I call the hidden level used for desynthing the "rlvl" (recipe level) of the item. Your issue is that crafting gear has a distinctly lower ilvl than its rlvl. To find out its rlvl, check the level of the recipe used to craft it. If it's level 66 to craft it (I'm too lazy to look it up), that would translate to r279. Your desynth is more than 50 levels below that level, so your chance is 0%. You'd need to have a dSkill of 230 to have a positive chance to desynth.

For reference, here's a chart showing the corresponding rlvls for craftable items based on their crafter level (I'm not certain of the 70* or 70** levels - I'll have to add those later):

* Level 61 items can be either r255 or r260. To tell which, check the Difficulty of the recipe of the item. If it's ~1100, then it's r255. If it's ~1400, then it's r260.
