So, using Tinker's Bacon, I assume? Your chance should be exactly 0% without it. Sad that you don't get a higher average exp. I guess my formula is a bit on the high side - it says 1.00 average at that skill difference =\
Seems to be a bell curve of some kind to the exp gains. Speeds up in the middle, slower on the ends. Or, maybe it just soft-caps at a 0.80 average at 20 skill below, and going lower doesn't improve exp.
Anyway, thanks for the data points!

Wow, they really wanted to make desynth leveling easy. Desynthing is the reason why most finished mats go for 2-3x their ingredients on the MB right now, at least on my server. Dhalmel Skin? 20k, need 3x for Dhalmel Leather. HQ Dhalmel Leather? 30k. I've made tons of Dhalmelskin and Ramie items, I haven't bought Dhalmel Leather (except twice early on) or Ramie Cloth, and I have never made a Dhalmel Leather or Ramie Cloth (they're not marked off on my Crafting Log yet).

Successfully desynthed my 1st Storm chaser earlier and got an Allagan Platinum Piece.
I decided to desysnth with the ARM and found it was less expensive after watching videos of other DoH desynth videos. I had to farm for all my materials but it was worth it knowing I didn't have to spend any gil to obtain Fieldcraft Demimateria III.
At 174 skill you get 0-.01 from il 150 gear.
Adept body from scrips gave me a rainbow cloth...lol. Had to try! It was 100% though and it is pure garbage so don't waste your scrips on it!
Well, the i150 gear could be r150 (c60) or r148 (c59) if it's crafted based on the recipe. If your base chance is 79%, it was r150. If your base chance was 76%, then it was r148. My formula suggests that r148 should give you 0.00-0.01 at 175 dSkill, but r150 should give you 0.01-0.02. Of course, my formula could be wrong, and/or the formula might not be the same at 174 as it is at 94...

I just got the ability to break down collectibles last night. The "DoL Desynth" as people are calling it. Should I put that in my guide? Anyone know how it works?

Do you mean aethereal reduction?, it works only on some collectables that have the property reduction, and it will show a kind of grade of purity of the material 1 to 8, as higher is then better stuff. The items obtains wich such method is mostly shards and rare sands
Hey Neri, just wanted to point out, if nobody has yet, GSM can now get Demimog materia via the astro wep. I got x2 from a desynth, unknown if more possible but I doubt it.
