* On Weaver, desynthing Rainbow and Holy Rainbow *crafted* gear, you can randomly get Battlecraft 2 Demimateria (not 3). Pretty worthless.

Err, yes, I'm well aware you get BC2s/FC2s from crafted gear. Level 50 crafted gear gives BC2s also, as does 50* gear. It's not until 50** that we started being able to make items we could desynth into 3s. It makes some logical sense that we won't get 3s again until we can make 60** and higher items. Weird, but follows a consistent pattern, I guess.

I was asking about dungeon gear, especially from the level 60 dungeons. Are you both saying that dungeon gear also gives BC2s/FC2s and not 3s? That would be inconsistent, in my opinion...

Ah oops. Well so far I've been Converting all my Dungeon Gear (in the hopes of getting a Tier V Materia . Didn't try Desynthing them, but I might try one or two pieces and update if I do.

They said in the patch notes Materia V could only be obtained for Mutamix until they patch in Alexander (Savage I think) in 4 weeks.

Nah, the patch notes mention it's only Gathering / Crafting Materia V that's on hold. From the Notes:

[3.0] Players can now convert gear into grade five materia.

* Grade five materia for crafting and gathering classes will not be available at the release of patch 3.0. They are scheduled to be added at a later date. However, it will be possible to receive grade five crafting or gathering materia via materia transmutation by speaking with Mutamix.
