Those seem pretty expensive sources of FC1s. That's what, 3,200 gil per attempt (assuming peiste leather is free and shards are 100 each)? I suspect the yield is only 16%, but even with a decent yield of, say, 33%, that's 10k per FC1 (20k if the yield is 16% like I actually expect). That's more than they cost on the MB on my server (10k last I checked). Brass Rings of Crafting, on the other hand, are 275 gil per attempt, with a yield of 10%, costing 2,750 gil per FC1.

Why not try Goatskin Chokers? They will have a relatively low yield (10-16%), but so should the glade counters, and the chokers only take an Aldgoat Leather, Diremite Sinew, and 4x Shards. That should cost you 1,000 or so, based on the price of Aldgoat Leather. That's a third the price of Glade Counters.

While we're on the topic of super cheap stuff, what about Hard Leather Chokers? I don't actually know the minimum rlvl that can yield FC1s (it's at most 20), but Hard Leather Chokers are an rlvl 15 item that costs 294 gil to buy from vendors. Making it is even cheaper - it takes 2x Shards, 1x Hard Leather, and 1x Beast Sinew. If rlvl 15 is too low, there are rlvl 21 Padded Leather Duckbills of Gathering that you can try. Leather Duckbills can be bought from a vendor in the North Shroud for 48 gil, and the leather and cotton are super cheap from city vendors. The only real expense for the r21 Padded Leather Duckbills of Gathering are the 3x Shards. They should cost you about 408 to craft (assuming 100 gil shards), and should have a 10% FC1 yield, costing you about 4k per FC1 (less than half the price of what you've been using). If you're lazy, you can just buy the shoes for 532 gil each at nine different vendors (three per region).
