Sorry for the inaccuracies in the guide. Obviously, I can't test everything myself since I can't have every class at high levels, so a lot of this is extrapolation, info found elsewhere on the internet, and educated guesses. I had never seen a weapon part retrieved, but I had seen materials not in the final product received, so I thought it combined the pools. Clearly, that's wrong for parts, but might still be true for equipment that takes other equipment. Either way, I'll update the guide, and I really appreciate the correction.

I had thought that relatively cheap crafts that can desynth into Battlecraft Demimateria III would be superior to running dungeons. ~15 minutes to run a dungeon plus only a 0.5 item yield per dungeon (assuming everyone in the party wants the item) means you can only get 2 i70 items an hour on average. i90 crafted items cost ~30k each to make on my server, meaning running dungeons only makes you ~60k an hour, and when I seriously craft, I can make ~200k an hour. Also, I was under the impression that i90 was better than i70 for getting demimateria. That's why I was suggesting that the crafted items were better than running dungeons for Darklight gear.

I did a bunch of testing this weekend, and my data now shows that I was totally wrong about the yields. While i90 items can give 2x demimateria at a time, comparing the yields of i90 and i70 items, they appear to be the same in the end (I was actually getting slightly better yields from i70 items...). I've found that i90s give demimateria much, much less often, to my dismay, making a lot of what I said in my guide inaccurate.

Mathing it out with my new numbers, it costs ~350k on my server to get a single Battlecraft Demimateria III from crafting on average. They are selling on the MB for ~100-200k each. Clearly, this is not sensible. It seems the way people get Battlecraft Demimateria III the most effectively is by running dungeons for Darklight accessories. If you can make tons of money by crafting like me, the correct solution is to make tons of money by crafting and just buy them from the MB from people running dungeons.

i90 meldable items are still great for leveling though.

Not completely, but I do know that i70 items give ~0.10 skill at level 84 and are only down to ~0.08 skill at level 87. Extrapolation suggests they should still give experience at level 90, though it should be down to ~0.04 by then, and it will be down to ~0.01 by 93. In contrast, extrapolation suggests that i80 items give ~0.25 skill at level 85, down to ~0.20 by level 90. I would expect them to be down to ~0.10 by 95 and down to ~0.04 by 99.

As a note, ALC isn't the only class to have issues getting from 90 to 100. CUL also has no desynthable items at all above i80.
