Whoops! You're right, that was a typo. I somehow got GLA and MRD confused (you can only buy level 1 main hands in the city where the class's guild lives). Thanks!

EDIT: Actually, it turns out that the level 1 ROG weapon is also 63 gil (cheapest price of all the BSM desynthable level 1 weapons), and you can buy that one in Limsa. I put both in the guide. I also updated the BSM guide with a better option at rlvl 16 - Brass Knives.

hey i just recently got my blacksmith desynthesis to 100 so i have a concern question i'm not really too sure about how u de-level desynthesis but i want to pervent that from happening to me blacksmith is my only 100 desynthesis if i keep desynthesisizing stuff in this category only it wont randomly go down rihgt? i am planning on just desynthesising the artisan CRP weapons so lol and how would it work when i want to level another class like GSM? can i just straight desynthesis level GSM or do i have to like desynthesis as GSM and then BSM so like GSM > BSM > GSM > BSM > GSM > BSM to keep the 100 thnx for the reply !!! sorry for mis-spelled words or grammer errors im in a rush to craft 200 lumbers and like 400 horned glues q-q

While BSM is at 100, desynthing anything with BSM will not lower anything else (you cannot lose skill if you do not gain skill). However, if you just straight-level GSM, you will randomly lose small amounts of BSM skill. To prevent this, you should do the following: BSM > GSM > GSM > GSM > BSM > GSM > GSM > GSM >BSM > (and so on). You can desynth anything with BSM, even level 1 weathered shortswords/daggers (which are the cheapest BSM desynthable items in the game).

Because I'm really lazy, I didn't do this when I leveled my second class. I just leveled it up ignoring the other class, and then when I was done, desynthed like one i90 item and got back all the exp I lost. You really don't lose much, just 0.01 every several desynths.

Yes you can. I currently do this with the below method for a very large profit.

Desynth bridesmad pants (weaver desynth skill at 100). I tend to desynth 100 at a time and get the following:

50-75 twinthread: Sell any extra on MB for 3k~ each
25-35 HQ Twin: Use 1+1 NQ for faster brocade rotation
20-30 FC3: Sell for 40-50k on MB
1-5 HQ Vanya Silk: Sell for 80-100k
5-10 Vanya Silk: Sell for 40-50k

I do the above 3 times a day to make 9 tools.

Selling the vanya and FC3 on my server nets me a profit while also giving me the mats for silver brocades. I usually make 3 weaver tools at a time and make about 9 total each day. I always get at least 2 MCD from those 9 tools. I have not kept track exactly on the results, but I have gotten 15 MCD from 9 tools on a couple days. IT is very easy and profitable even with MCD now selling for 340k~ on Coeurl.

Yes, but the rate is low. I've desynthed several forager's/artisan tools and received 1 MCD once, and 2 MCD once, every other time has been different materials.

From what I've seen and mathed, the rate should be something around ~15-20% to get 1-3 MCDs, and on average you'll get 2 MCDs. So, expected value is ~0.3-0.4 MCDs per tool desynth. For reference, the person who said that he was getting 2+ MCDs per 9 tools, the expected number from my maths says ~2.7-3.6 for that many desynths. So, that guestimate of ~15-20% is definitely in the right ballpark.

Uhh, that sounds really good to me? Higher than what I've ever seen... I get ~2 MCDs ~20% of the time, which is more like 20 MCDs from 50 tools. And that's average based on the reports of others - with my shitty luck, I usually get more like 10 MCDs per 50 tools... You shouldn't complain about your awesome luck dropping to only really good luck :P
