The +1 or +2 means literally after eating that food you level up 1 or 2 desynthesis levels while the buff is on.

It's not +1 level, it's +2.5% success rate. If it was +1 level, it would be giving +1.5% success rate at higher levels.

Depends on your server of course but, suspended trillium flowers are cheap to make and yield FC3. Also, mossy weapon parts should be fairly cheap too. The weapon parts and reagents category of the MB is your BFF for this. Growth formula delta concentrate, enchanted rose gold ink, cheap minium and lime sulphur is what you want.

You don't have a lot of options but the ones you do have should be fairly cheap. After these things fall off, you have to run some Titan HM. If you have people willing to pass you the weapons that is your best bet.

While it was cheap for me many months back to get FC3 and BC3 from Alchemy, I really don't see too much benefit of having ALC desynth leveled anymore, and I used a beginner book and reset it in favor of GSM.

    Hope this helped. GL

I don't really have a million gil to spend, is it worth doing the LTW desynth route partnered with my CUL/Spicy Tomato Relish to Artisan Specs route? It seems lots of money is being spent here, I fear the RNGesus.

I assume you're talking about getting FC3s via LTW to go with your MCDs from GSM desynthed Artisan Specs. You have two real choices here:

    1. Make money via methods readily available to you (spritbonding, farming, etc), then buy the FC3s for about 50k each, which is what they're down to on my server.

    2. Level up LTW desynth and get them yourself. Yield appears to be about 20% from Bridesmaid's Sandals, which means it'll cost you about 30k per FC3 obtained this way, once you have a 100% chance to desynth. When your LTW dSkill is 70, you only have a 50% chance, putting the estimated cost per FC3 at 60k (but getting you skill ups in the process). So, let's do some ballpark math.
    • dSkill 1-20: about 100 gil for 0.5 skill = 4k gil
    • dSkill 20-40: about 500 gil for 0.4 skill = 25k gil (Round that to 30k total)
    • dSkill 40-60: about 500 gil for 0.2 skill = 50k gil (Round that to 100k total)
    • dSkill 60-70: either about 500 gil for 0.05 skill (Legionary Visors) = 200k gil, or 6k gil for 0.7 skill (Bridesmaid's Sandals) at a ~45% chance = 190k + 2.8 FC3s, so you might as well do the sandals (Round that to 300k total, average of 3 total FC3s, 100k/FC3)
    • dSkill 70-75: 6k gil for 0.50 skill at a ~55% chance = 109k, 2 FC3s (Round that to 400k total, average of 5 total FC3s, 80k/FC3)
    • dSkill 75-80: 6k gil for 0.25 skill at a ~65% chance = 185k, 4 FC3s (Round that to 600k total, average of 9 total FC3s, 67k/FC3)
    • dSkill 80-85: 6k gil for 0.12 skill at a ~73% chance = 342k, 8 FC3s (Round that to 1m total, average of 17 total FC3s, 59k/FC3)
    • dSkill 85-90: 6k gil for 0.05 skill at a ~81% chance = 741k, 20 FC3s (Round that to 1.75m total, average of 37 total FC3s, 47k/FC3)
    • To get your dSkill higher at this point, you'll need to find other ways to do it. The best is to run 2.4 dungeons for Myth gear and desynth it. Your chance will only be 44% at 87 skill, but you'll get about 0.4 skill per success. Assuming you get it up to dSkill 95, and then 100:
    • dSkill 90: 6k gil for 0 skill at a 85% chance: 35k/FC3 (total cost/FC3 = 37 FC3s: 47k/FC3, 50 FC3s: 44k/FC3, 100 FC3s: 40k/FC3, 200 FC3s: 37k/FC3)
    • dSkill 95: 6k gil for 0 skill at 92.5% chance: 32.5k/FC3 (assuming no additional costs to reach 95 from 90, total cost/FC3 = 37 FC3s: 47k/FC3, 50 FC3s: 43k/FC3, 100 FC3s: 38k/FC3, 200 FC3s: 35k/FC3))
    • dSkill 100: 6k gil for 0 skill at 100% chance: 30k/FC3 (assuming no additional costs to reach 100 from 90, total cost/FC3 = 37 FC3s: 47k/FC3, 50 FC3s: 43k/FC3, 100 FC3s: 36k/FC3, 200 FC3s: 33k/FC3))

So, the question there is, how many FC3s are you going for? Less than 17 total? Buy them for 50k each and you'll still save money, assuming you don't want to make money, but you're getting closer to the theoretical break-even point. 37 or more? Get the skill up yourself and you'll save money. However, if you don't have the million to invest, you won't even make it to the 59k/FC3 point, much less the 47k/FC3 point which takes an investment of 1.75 million.

EDIT: My skill up numbers were a bit off. They should be good now.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere yet, but for people that don't know you can desynth the old i90 Primal Jewelry dropped from Garuda/Titan/Ifrit Ex. They have the same sucess rate as old i90 coil gear, and GSM can desynth them to get a chance at Demi Materia of Inferno/Crags/Gales. This actually moves just alchemists from being the sole providers of Crag materia. Not that farming the old Exs would be better than farming Titan HM, but it opens up options. Unsure if you could get other forms of demi materia this way or not (such as Mastercraft, Battlecraft etc).

You can also desynth your old Twin weapons as well, but they are i95 and obviously are a little harder to desynth sucessfully. Unsure if Levi weapons are desynthable yet. Happy hunting!

Good info, thank you! Those i90 combat accessories should provide 1-2x BC3s as well as the primal demis. I wonder if Ultima accessories desynth into anything interesting...
