I only started desynth today and got my BSM up to 67.40. Not really sure if this is particularly good as I have nothing to go by in terms of speed. While I was at a loss, I started off with buying weapons from the vendors as they have been cheaper then the market boards. This was mainly to understand it.

Eventually, I just synthesised hatchets and scythes. This can yield some cash back for the fieldcraft demimateria I which seems to be far more expensive then they grade II.

Desynthing the i55 1star gear seems to be quite expensive. I even resorted to crafting and desynthing a number of Odin head pieces but the progress was slow at this level. Anyone any tips?

I think your best bet until ~75ish skill are Wolf Winglets, craftable in the PvP section. They seem to use the cheapest materials to me. Remember you can purchase Aldgoat Horns from the Kobold Vendor for 238 gil each. These can also get you Battlecraft Demimateria IIs, which are useful.

Militia Sledgehammer is just as cheap, I think, and gets you Fieldcraft IIs if you're looking for those. Since I have plenty of them and want more Battlecraft IIs, I'm planning to focus on the Wolf Winglets.

After those two stop being good for you, you might want to get into PvP. You can get i70 Warwolf Blades for 965 Wolf Marks, which isn't too bad if you enjoy Frontlines. You can also spam Ifrit as a PLD, WAR, MNK, or DRG hoping for the weapons for those classes. There seem to be zero good crafted options for BSM at the i70 level, sadly. Your only crafted options are the i70 weapon parts, which can yield Fieldcraft Demimateria IIIs, but require 9x Coke each.

Thanks for the reply. Had a feeling it would be either expensive or time consuming :/ guess I will do ARM too in the mean time.

One of my issues with going with the PvP gear is I am saving up my marks. of which I currently have just over 14k. Guess I can spend them as I earn them because I want to hit the 20k cap.

    Weaver 85 - 100 Help

    Hi Nyalia and All,

Great guide. Thanks for all the tips on crafting, it's been really helpful!

I just wanted to bump the thread and see if anyone has any other advice for Leveling Weaver Desynthesis from Level 85 - 100?

On the OP I see pretty much 1 item. Realistically is this the best / only option?

    • dSkill 80-95: Quad-melded Cashmere Hat of Casting (i90) [60% - 80%]
    • dSkill 95-100: Triple-melded Cashmere Hat of Casting (i90) [75% - 85%]

    Thanks!

    Artisan's Frypans?

Just wondering what the average yield is for Artisan's Frypans (or other Artisan's weapons) for Mastercraft materia.

I've been pounding tomato sauce for Artisan's spectacles, but the Mastercraft yield is pretty low. I know you can get up to 3 mastercraft from the frypan, but how oten do the mastercraft fall?

I've got a reliable macro that gives me about 80-90% HQ sauce from NQ tomatoes, so my average cost is about 3k per sauce. That's ~35k per spectacle, ~175k per Frypan (factoring in NQ).

Wondering if it's worth it to level up armorer? Would I get a better overall Mastercraft materia yield from Frypans than from spectacles?

    Hi Nyalia and All,

    Question:

    * I have 1 craft @ Level 100 Desynth, and am working on the second craft's Desynth:

    * Do you get a chance for Losing Desynth Points in the 2nd (or 3rd) Craft you're leveling up, if you attempt to Desynth a 100% Chance Item in your 1st Level 100 Craft?

Just wondering if I have to (sigh) always carry a stack of low-level items to "lock" my 2nd Craft if I just wanted to quickly Desynth an item or two (100% chance) on my 1st Craft that's Level 100.

    Thanks.

No Longer Losing Desynth Level (unless at Max)

    Hi Nyalia and All,

SO happy about the updates for Patch 2.5. Looks like we *won't* lose Desynthesis Levels / Points when we Desynth other classes, unless we're at Maximum! Excellent.

And they raised the Maximum Desynth Level.

    But I wonder why it's such an odd number (350)? 110 + 110 + 110 = 330. I guess they're letting players experiment on a 4th crafting class (but only 20 points? Why?).

It would've been nice to open it up to 440 + 1 point in each of the non-used classes instead. Patch Notes:
    • The level cap for desynthesis has been increased.
    • The level cap for each class has been increased from 100 to 110.110
    • The cumulative skill point maximum has been increased from 300 to 350.350

Skill levels will no longer decrease if your combined skill level is not at the maximum.

    Mythril at this guide

Great guide. I have WVR and ALC leveled, and decided to delevel GSM in order to level BSM.

I wanted to suggest that you replace Mythril File in your guide with Mythril Head knife (you even mention that there is probably a better option). There are two main reasons: first, boar leather on my server is more expensive than oak lumber (which may be purchased from the ixali vendor), but more than that, I am getting FC I demi, which currently sell for 8-10k on my server.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kiara,

To answer your question... Unfortunately the change you recommended would have adverse effects because 440 (4 classes at 110 cap) + 4 (remaining 4 classes at base 1) would equal 444 and also mean you would be at the maximum points, therefore you can and will lose skill in a random class each time you desynth. None of us want this, so having 330 (3 classes at 110 cap) + 5 (remaining 5 classes at base 1) would equal 335 and also mean we have 15 points spare. I don't think those 15 points are for "experimenting", I'm pretty sure they did that so that we could pick 3 classes and safely have those at maximum with no risk to losing skill (provided you never put those spare 15 points into a 4th class).

    Make sense?

Seems to me like SE really wants us to only pick 3 desynth classes, not 4. If they wanted us to have 4 at max they would probably have set the point cap at 450 instead of 350.
