By the way - ilvl 170 and 200 stuff can be bought for hunt tokens and the costs arent too terrible. (Ishgard)
Ilvl 170:
cheapest weapon -> 50 tokens
belts -> 25 tokens
Ilvl 200:
cheapest weapon -> 100 tokens
belts -> 55 tokens

And I agree on red scripts! (Though I prefer gathering for that -> no cost except for teleport)
Too bad tools need that much of those things to upgrade to 200...

Generic recommendations for all classes:

• dSkill 165 - 195 = i180 PvP gear
• dSkill 190 - 220 = i205 PvP gear
• dSkill 215 - 245 = i230 Poetics gear
• dSkill 240 - 270 = r255 crafted gear (which can be bought from vendors/MB)

It is available. Talk to Bertana - look for the materials there. You get all the tokens from Hismena which is to her left.

I guess I missed this since its a different vendor and not directly from poetics.

Also the 62/63 gear is still slightly above where I am at, only 10%, so was looking for a bit more to grind out before I tackled those.

Is it worth switching one of my Desynths over to Armorer to match my mains (I equal main DRG and DRK) if they're already at 180 each? Feels like a waste to throw away all this Armorer gear from dungeons when I could be desynthing it. Also feels like a waste to throw away all that progress though. Currently I have BSM, WVR and LTH, I'd probably swap out Weaver or Leatherworker.

And since all the other crafting stuff is low ilvl as well it should work with those as well...

After lvl 63 is done one should be able to rinse and repeat the same thing with lvl68 tools. Since they tend to be cheap as well - because of the quests again.
After the lvl 68 the last step is obvious: 70. I can recommend the alchemists offhand there. Hilariously cheap to craft. (The bars are at 2,5k and wood at 1k...)
Maybe I could have skipped the 68 stuff with food, potion and melds. (Since I am ok with 30-50% chances at these prices...)

I guess alchemists are the only ones which will have a though life gaining levels in desynth?
Because weavers and leatherworkers having gatherer/crafter gear to desynth, that other smith has at least frying pans, carpenter has a few crafter offhands, goldsmiths all the jewelry and needles...
And even if there is nothing on the market and no mats to craft them, there are still npcs...
And no, I wont even start to talk about what cook has...

I guess its almost time to update that guide? XD

Is desynthesis tried to crafter level?

Reason that I ask is bcause I have not bothered yet to level my crafters in stormblood (BSM still 60), but I am trying to max out my desynthesis. I am currently at 290, an desynthesis of a ilvl 290 item is only giving me like 0.15-0.25 points. It seems like up until this point, similar level items gave me about 0.4 - 0.5 points. However, I know there is a lot of variability in how much you get per desynthesis, so may I am just getting unlucky.

Desynth is not tied to crafter level outside of needing a lv 30 crafter to unlock it.

Desynth experience is determined by the difference between your desynth level and a difficulty value tied to the item (ilvl usually for battle gear.) As your desynth level increases, the exp gains you get for that ilvl decreases.

Thanks for the reply. Just bad luck I guess. But I am glad I made sure before burning all of the ilvl300 items that I have sitting on my retainers.
