    That's Sil'dih, and you're right - they used necromancy in a disastrous attempt to turn around a war they were losing (it's why Sil'dih is a deserted pile of rubble at the foot of a gorge). It was mostly that incident which gave necromancy such a bad reputation (Ul'dah used it as propaganda in the war, saying Sil'dih were creating "abominations" that Ul'dah now had no choice but to send "back to Thal". This way of thinking still exists in the present day too, hence why I said in my earlier posts such a class would probably never be playable.

    I see nothing wrong with give the players a chance at a little evil now and then. >w>
