"How would this fit into the lore of things? There must be lore! And what should we name them? Ritualist and Necromancer sounds too dark and evil."
-Yoshi-P
Did Yoshi-P really mention me or are you joshing me? >//w//>
Either way, I can come up with a back story and lore.
Also, I like the idea of them being dark. What's wrong with the dark? The Thaumaturge back story loves talking about darkness and the abyss. And have you seen Arcanist's move-pool? The DoTs are all disease-based. Not to mention how so many people are asking for Dark Knight.
It was a joke. Sorta. Ish. Based on the fact that Thief's naming was changed to Rogue to fit in with the lore of FFXIV.
I think they changed Thief's name because Thief denotes that its main mechanic would be theft, i.e. stealing, which generally doesn't go over to well in MMORPGs. Where as Rogue denotes more of a pragmatic feel to it and is a bit more vague-sounding.

Added Levels 1 to 15 Ritualist Quests
Update
Finished making the Ritualist Questline.
I meant to get to this thread before, but this is actually plausible. There is an NPC north of Drybone just before the bridge that mentions the undead, like he's seen them before. I forget the exact words, but it makes a mention to the undead. There, you can start your quest for lore if you so choose.
Update: Tiny Aurochs, 21,21 says;
Listen! Can you hear them? The screams rising up from the bottom of the canyon! The Blades all tell me it's naught but the wind, but I've heard the wailing on nights where nary a leaf shuddered. Soon, they'll believe me. When the army of undead marches from the Invisible City and reclaims our realm for their own!

The sister city to Ul'dah had necromancers. You can look it up, but I can't recall the name.
@ Jican and Exstal
I had thought about the Necromancer's teacher being an Imp near the Invisible City (Which I think is Ul'dah's sister city) or Tam-Tara Deepcroft. Hmmm....
