    F/M armors

Do you think one day we will be able to see some armor sets for males and females?

Why SE seems to believe that jobs like Bard, Mages should be played by females characters and jobs like Tank by males characters?

Why SE doesn't create some specific sets for both gender? Ok now we can use the glamour system but in my opinion it's not a reason for being so lazy.

We have already no differences on certain sets between PLD/WAR, DPS, WHM/SCH, BLM/SMN and no differences between gender.... it looks like a little cheap for a PTP don't you think?

I met a Roegadyn who was wearing the CT2 healer armor....are you serious?

Some random pics about genders armors in Aion (i'm not talking about the design) :

There are some pieces of gear that are gender-varied/gender-locked (Coliseum gear, swimsuits, and dresses come to mind), but for the most part, the way it is now, I like the fact that those pieces of gear aren't commonplace. I had a good friend when I was on Cactaur back in 2.0 who plays a Paladin. When I first saw her in full AF2, I thought she looked absolutely badass, and AF2 gear didn't have a different gender model for females. It just seemed so much better to see than something that showed off a bunch of cleavage or leg.

As for your examples, if you notice, every female set of armor is a lot more form-fitting than the male armor and, in most of them, there is a LOT more skin showing. I mean, why should a woman be forced to wear a different style of armor if they don't want to?

All I know is, the way FFXIV: ARR's gear appearances are structured, this game has gotten a LOT of praise for gender equality in armor and I think that, if these changes were implemented, that would throw all of that away.

I mean, we have a glamour system now. If women want to dress scantily, there are glamours for that. I don't want to see women have differently-modeled armor from men. In a way, it just seems like some kind of gender segregation and I really don't think that's gonna help anyone.

I disagree with the 'every female set of armour is a lot more form-fitting than the male armour' ... I think what the males are wearing in these screenshots look fantastic. It looks extremely fitting in my opinion, and there's hints of brilliance. Of course, that's my opinion and it's subjective. However, I can't help but wonder what the gender counterparts of some gear would have looked like if FFXIV initially went down this route.

Oh I remember the gear in Aion. The pictures looked really awesome but when you got the piece of gear and wore it; it made you go "what the heck is this noise. . ." cause it looked stupid on guy characters and always looked amazing like in the pictures for female counterparts. Same can be said about TERA too.

I like the way it is now, cause if a see a female character wearing a piece of armor that I think looks awesome, I know it can look just as awesome on a guy character.

I love how XIV and XI before it does it currently. its equality. i'd be fine with a few of the armors being different. but the CT2 armor is cosplay armor. it wouldent make since if you *didint* wear Scylla's clothing...when wearing scyllas clothing ;p..

but for things like BRD,MNK,ect. ..its a uniform. all monks wear said uniform and all brds do. with the exception of small changes (which seem to mainly be undershirts/underarmor/shirts/skirts) they are the same.

One thing i reeeally hated about Aion was how every single female outfit absolutely needed high heels, it annoyed the crap out of me.

Yup, I was just saying the other day most other MMO games end game armors are vastly superior to this one. Anyway, totally agree.

When I say "form-fitting", I mean physically. Like how spandex pants are more form-fitting than jeans. In every single example, the male armor is very comfortably fit and looks as though it's meant for function just as much as aesthetics. The female armor, for the most part, looks like it would bust seams if any of those women decided to do anything more than take shallow breaths, not to mention that, in a fair amount of the female gear, there's more skin showing than in the male variants and in just the right places to make certain types of men get extremely aroused, as if it were designed with that in mind.

Now, I'm a gay man, so I like to think I have a unique perspective here, but none of the male armor looks even remotely like it has any sex appeal whatsoever whereas the female gear practically reeks of it. That's my biggest complaint about this.

But aside from that, unless SE wants to make a "Sex Appeal" version of these armors completely separate of the originals, I don't think I would be okay with them taking armor styles in this kind of direction.

EDIT: Just gonna leave this here to show the future of FFXIV if the game adopts these ideas.
