Fun is subjective. I'm having fun, trotting the world with my fellow adventurers, looking for marks and trying the absurd pop conditions to get some of these S-Marks to spawn. But yes, I'll agree that there is very little challenge involved.

yet the SE devs still made it.
not everyone wanted this. plenty of people were very doubtful how this would work. a lot of us wanted more map-type encounters that didn't involve maps but involved some kind of riddle/spawn condition.
nobody asked for mini-Odin/Behemoth FATEs.
these hunts currently have zero mechanics, there's nothing fun about doing them. tank and spank is already bad, this is nothing but spank.

Guess who doesn't want to wait three months to participate in hunts in a game he pays for?? ...it's me. They need to fix the system, not just "ride it out". I think they mentioned increasing daily rewards in the live letter, so once that's implemented I think it should reduce the strain. And you can only get 3 sands a year doing dailies right now.A half a year to get 1 sands is an exaggeration. When 2.4 comes out high end game players won't touch hunts much at all because the sands and oil gear upgrades won't be top of the line anymore. Thus letting more casual players get hunt mobs much easier. Its only about 3 months until 2.4.
This is the biggest problem atm. Found 2 A's yesterday both up and alone, while I was soloing. Obviously couldn't fight them by myself. So shouted for a group for 5+ minutes, until some other group swooped in and told me they had no room and stole the NM while I got 2 seals... Yes this happened to me twice within an hour. The hunt system is complete crap atm.Groups are monopolizing marks. If you happen to be a solo player and stumble upon an unclaimed NM, there's little you can do besides pull it yourself and hope some jerk doesn't reset it. Shouting for a group will likely go unanswered while others claim what you found.
Personally, I'm in favor of weekly caps. It's fair, and brings a cyclical nature to all content. Hardcore hunters get their farming out of the way and go back to whatever else it is they do, and in the mean time, folks with lower system specs or less time to devote to hunts cap their soldiery for the week and do hunts later in the week, when the crowd has thinned a bit. I know it flies in the face of the 'no lockout' vision... But honestly, all unlimited gear does is grow the potential gap between hardcore and casual type players, and this is bad for community. Cooperation, rather than competition, has to be facilitated. I feel that while the efforts of the dev team are admirable... They continually give the player base a bit too much credit as a whole.

Honestly, as I've been doing more hunts, I realize even more what a joke they are. First, I think the fact that you HAVE to be in a group to get the full number of seals needs to change, especially if you contribute as much as everyone else.
The other day, I got invited by a friend into an 8 person group. We all were chatting, having a good time searching for monsters. People were spread out in different zones. No drama was occuring. Then my friend found an A rank monster and called it out. We all head there and group up. No one had pulled yet.
Finally someone pulls, and the attacks begin. At that very moment, is when the group leader decided to kick me and my friend from the group and we ended up getting 2 seals instead of the 20 we should have received. Complete and utter crap.
Next, a lot of people have stated, there seems to be particular groups or FC's on each server that are monopolizing the targets/rewards leaving everyone else with very little.
And let's not mention that these level 50 monsters die FAR faster than level 30 bosses you see in Fates.

Making daily marks give more rewards than the hunt parties will fix the problem.
yeah it's realy bad, it's just a no brain way to get stuff, get some fashion stuff by doing that should be ok, but not high end gears.
Even if you handle it very fine to have max people to get the reward.
It's still not a good way to win high end gears
