Honestly I don't know the difference as to what class they are, I assume Naul is a nasty one and Moracao sp? I am just saying I don't know if they intended for big groups of players to go around and constantly farm boss marks. Since that is the case and players are getting nasty with each other, it is bad. If I was to find a boss I knew I could handle with my chocobo, do I tag it and kill it then have to put up with the nastiness? Considering some of those doing nothing but farming elites and thus in other's eyes abandoning DF and other end game stuff, seem to feel entitled themselves to spawns irregardless if some player is still trying to get full credit. Goes both ways. I see the fighting everytime I go to certain zones. It is tiring. Monopolization of spawns only leads to bad behaviour in the end, just think of all the NM's and triggers in FFXI that people fought and cheated over.

Was big revenue for gil farmers until SE started adjusting drops. I mention gil farmers because of tomes and the mats you can get with tomes.

I may eventually start doing hunts but I don't really look forward to joining a locust-swarm LS that tolerates cheaters in order to do so efficiently.

I am not sure it is being monopolized. It is not like a small group of 20-30 people are killing them over and over again.

Every S mark mob is hunted down by 150-200 people on our server. It is announced in all the big hunting linkshells when they pop. Every A mark mob is hunted down by 25-50 people during off hours and 50-100 during peak hours. Like I said before I am in 3 major linkshells for hunting marks. All of the linkshells have 128 members, all off the linkshells have members of all the major and minor free companies on the server. The reach out is huge.

Personally I have a macro. When I spot something, I press my macro and it announced the mark to my party and free company. 10 seconds after that it announces the mark to all the three linkshells I am in.

The problem here is not people spotting, killing and hunting the marks in huge groups. The problem is that players that do not join a linkshell, do not know about spawning conditions and do not want to put in any kind of effort feel entitled in killing marks too.

@Zakalwe It is almost impossible to tell who is cheating, so you can not blame linkshell leaders of knowingly allowing people in their linkshells. If SE can't control it or can tell who is cheating, how on earth is a linkshell leader going to tell? It is not fair to generalize every linkshell and every hardcore mark hunter as a cheater, just because some of them use radar while others really know what they are doing.

@Wulfyn Naul is a B, easy mark. Marocco is harder (A), need a party or a proper light party at least.

I would hate to be forced to join a LS for hunts, I was briefly in one for maps but the chat got so annoying (juvenile). Part of the problem really is the amount of people showing up and the mobs still die fast from what I have seen. Kind of disappointing actually. We can only wait and see what SE does anyways.

@Shape As stated before, the overlay thingy is the radar people are using to spot. It gives you a small advantage since it can look around corners and behind you.

@LeonBlade In no way I am defending the user of radar, absolutely not. What I agree with is that people do not read my messages properly. All I am asking for is that everyone puts in a bit of time and effort to find a mark. Hell, if you are too lazy to hunt for marks just join a linkshell and act when they spam something is spotted. It is not that hard.

@Elven Your reaction is a nice form of generalization. Any proof on this?

@Kallera If you are too lazy to look into the inner mechanics than don't, but do not expect to get everything out of the experience either. Also, the least effort you could put into it is joining a hunting linkshell and just react when they spot something.

I have no intention of getting anything out of the cheating experience. Attempting to gate The Hunt for the sake of a mad dash to gil is an act no better than the gilsellers.

So, people do not want to join linkshells, people do not want look into mechanics and keep track of hunts, people do not want to join big parties or group up with randoms. Yet they feel entitled to kill marks and get the loot.

.... yes and I am the one being offensive and crazy here

@Kallera So that is the only defense you guys have left? Thinking everyone is cheating to make yourself feel better?

I liked the thing where someone had an overlay on their map. It gives them an advantage but they still have to patrol those routes, without knowing when ad which spawn location it would appear at.

    That is the radar app.

I don't think that's the point people are making. You are seemingly defending the use of radars from their point of view based on how you're responding. People aren't reading the entirety of your message, and associate your hostility with the support of cheating.

I will say, is that making these B and A ranks spawn at set times means casual players can't benefit from these levels of enemies that are more geared towards them by themselves. I don't think these casual players actually post on the forums though, they don't joining a hunting linkshell, or join PF parties for hunts, they just want to engage in the content at their own pace.

With these hunts being sat on by multiple groups, a solo player cannot get much credit for something, even if they find it first, because once people roll in, the hunt will get reset and thrown around not allowing this player to contribute much and overall get barely any credit for something designed to be done with just a few people... not 30+.
