Curious (and this is all just hypothetical) - what's stopping them from completely rebuilding the 1.0 client (with it's graphics engine) to make it work with ARR? For purposes of graphics, I mean? Obviously they wouldn't be able to bring back the animations and such from 1.0, but they could just build on the skeleton and graphics engine from that client to give people with high-end machines a boost.

Keep in mind I'm not asking for them to use the old zone maps and such. I'm asking for a rebuild of a client - it's just a graphical front-end, after all. There would still be the smaller ARR zones, zone lines, instanced dungeons, simplified and faster character animations, etc, but we could have the amazing textures, meshes, and gear physics that 1.0 had while still enjoying ARR.

Ultimately, I'm guessing that money and time would be the only things keeping them from it. Possibly a stigma against anything 1.0, too.
