Example: People wanted Titan Ex to no longer be a barrier for the other EX fights. It got removed, and people then complained on how many "Fail Groups" popped up. People wanted more players in lowbie dungeons (for leveling alt classes), then people complained about forced SR/people "selecting" their roulettes.

I could go on but my point is clear. There's WAY more to designing a game system than "CoolGuy69" (or insert other internet name) could understand, and everyone who THINKS they could do better/could code better obviously has never actually worked on a game before.
If this were true we would still be playing 1.0

Player satisfaction (within reason) is what keeps an MMO alive or did you forget this game uses a subscription model?

Nothing in an MMO stays the same as it was when the game was launched.

The most profitable and longest lasting MMOs were the ones that took player feedback into consideration, both when developing new content for the game and adjusting content that had been already added.

Game developers are like anyone else, they have ideas that they attempt to put into action and while some of them may work as they expected, others do not. Yoshida himself has admitted this on multiple occasions both regarding new content and current game balance, feel free to revisit the topics on Coil clearing, and Warrior job balance, as well as the future of the job/class system, and stat allocation.

So yeah, while "CoolGuy69" might not know SE's internal coding structure for the game, he certainly knows what he's willing to spend his money on next month.

NMs are not a problem. The HUNTING PAPERS are the problem.

The NMs work fine. That is NOT what people have a problem with. It's the board system that tells people they got to find a specific NM each week for 20 bonus hunting marks, when it should be giving people some kind of once a week, one try per paper, spawnable hunt. Right now all that is going to happen each week is an open world gold rush for a one hour spawn, where everyone is going to fight for contribution during the peak hours of the day and walk away with partial credit.

The hot fix probably only made things worse, as now they have made what should be common NMs more difficult to kill while in the over world due to a problem being caused by their own hunting papers system.

It's like advertising you have the best 50 hot dogs at your hot dog stand during Taste of Chicago, then have 100+ people show up all wanting one. It's never going to work out.

And let's not forget that we pay for it, versus a Free-to-Play game.

In a F2P, customers can give suggestions, but that's it. The DEVs and Company can do whatever they want, WHEN they want. No expansions, no updates every X month.

I for once am super happy to Pay-to-Play. This game is great and has lots of potential, considering it's not even on it's first year out!

Agreed, they should have a test server before tossing improvised content. The masses will rage less.

All in all, SE, good job - keep going strong, and I hope on the Next Live Letter you'll give us nice updates about where the game is going (10 more jobs please!)
