Finished 9 books weapon is still Atma

Am I missing something, I finished the 9 books with my Atma weapon and was told by the Book of the Brave vendor to go to Hyrstal...unfortunately, I can't take the Celestial Radience quest because my weapon is still Atma and not Animus..am I missing something obvious...I do still have the last completed book in inventory...do I have to dispose of it?

I believe you talk to him and select "Atma weapon enhancement" and make sure the weapon is not equipped.

Equip a different weapon, talk to the old man and choose the atma weapon enhancement option. Your atma weapon will convert to animus.

Seems like they either should have pointed out that you need to actually trade in your mainhand weapon to get a new one (you can't discard your mainhand weapon and still be the class/job you were when you equipped it), or this should be common knowledge by now.

They do point it out when you have to turn in the unfinished relic and again when you upgrade from Relic to zenith, but I guess for a lot of people that was a long time ago so they forgot.
