Yes, there are some Macs out there that are upgradable. The vast majority, however, are not and are such by design. Or at the very least they make it as difficult as possible.
The sum of all hunt arguments over early pullers: http://goo.gl/IFT9IE
Not arguing that at all! While the mac pros (2004-2012) are easily upgraded with most off the shelf parts, upgrading an iMac requires custom parts and nearly complete dissasembly.
I'm a minimalist, though, so having a beautiful all in one that could run everything and not be a sci-fi eyesore in my living area was important.
Plus, now I can run windows on a Core i7 880, Radeon HD 6970, etc, and with two kepresses, I'm back on my Apple-centric editing environment.
But yeah. Whole other conversation, there.

What SE needs to do is Add Hunt Radar into the game, create a "Hunter" skill, and the higher you raise it, the better you are at tracking Monsters.
The only true way to combat 3rd party APP users.
SE likes its "Fight Club" rules. but when Fight Club pisses off this many people, its time for a change SE.
Square Enix needs to start cracking down on people using this exploit. I'm sure there are plenty enough instances of people openly admiting they use such a program to make a example and show that they are actually being vigilant on this front.
As of now a silent "Please don't use them.....pretty please, we might have to do something....so please stop...I don't want to actually act" fancy pants dance isn't going to stop people. It's always such a shame there are always a small group of people who just have to screw with a game to screw with it.

1. At least on my server no one really admits they use it. People only accuse people of using it.\
2. Can't detect reading from memory unless they install something that breeches privacy on your pc.
3. Even if the radar wasn't available the widespread popularity of hunts would not stop people from finding something when it spawns. (TODs are a powerful tool)
If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.

TODs and massive amounts of people that search the area is what actually seems to have taken over for the most part. (at least on midgar)
"only reading memory" radars don't help much without the TOD information, and with the amount of people that search for the marks, I'm starting to doubt that those radars actually provide much of an advantage to the people that use them.

Ya after reading into what radar does and how it functions, it has a limited scan range. Most people have a misconception that if you have the tool, walk into the zone, you'll see exactly where it is on the map. This means, giving the player base a legit radar won't really change anything because the radar doesn't really give the advantage people believes it gives. However, what works well is having 2 capped LS of people actively hunting and sharing info. Somehow magically seems to get you positions of hunt targets. Who would have guessed?

Trust me as a old hardened MMO player people are often less than discreet when they use these tools. Sure they aren't shouting it to the heavens but /tells and FC and LS chat will often betray many cheaters.
Square Enix is good at hunting these people just because some apps can't be seen in active use doesn't mean they don't know how to investigate the cases. They just need to man up and start doing something about it right now they are dealing with it far to light handed. Something should be done and soon so they don't lose the respect of players that abstain from such practices, if they let it run rampant they send a message that it's ok to do.
Yoshida saying things like "We wont deny people will use these just don't talk about them!" doesn't help them.

Yeah, I can think of several instances in other games where players would screenshot a conversation from a guild or party chat, and the player would suddenly disappear, and the next thing you know "XYXYX just skyped me to say his account got banned" This is usually because someone in the chat was part of the stealth anti-cheating group (people who have a direct line to GM's.) Make cheating inconvenient, and people will be less willing to go through the effort of doing it.

I'd like to recommend upping health of the higher class hunts to that of raid boss level health, and the lesser class to dungeon boss level. people botting would die radar people would be more willing to shout out coordinates and everyone would be able to build up there level because of the longer battle cycle. just too easy to kill these things with the gear people have access too even fresh 50's.
