Easy to obtain demateria. For those of you who don't know yet, you get a chance by using desysnthesis. Obviously the higher difficulty the better demateria you can get.
My questions:
What is demateria used for?
How do you acquire mastercraft demateria?
Good Answers:
Demimateria are used to acquire the new recipe books for crafters, as well as in the actual recipes themselves. Demimateria are extremely valuable and there's a few tricks to increasing your chances to get them during desynthesis. As far as mastercraft demimateria goes... I believe these come from desynthesizing the i70 DoH/DoL tools.
Hope that helps!

Thanks friend +1
The higher the level on the item within its grade range will increase the likelihood of earning that materia. For instance, if you want tier 1 fieldcraft demimateria, buy goatskin rings from an armor npc since they're level 20 and 400 gil each and desynth those. Same goes for any tier 1 up to level 29 since 30-4? will give you tier 2.
And of course ask reddit...

Tier 1 demimateria actually goes up all the way to like... level 40. I can confirm it's definitely past lvl 35 because I use Mythril Earrings to get demimateria I with a decent success rate (as they are easy to craft and re-craft on GSM). The recipe is lv35 and the item is lv37 (http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...m/986d377d364/)The higher the level on the item within its grade range will increase the likelihood of earning that materia. Haven't really bothered aiming to get tier 2 because there's no profit in it lol ^_^
Of the links you provided, the one I bolded is definitely the most useful. I didn't know that T1 (fieldcraft/battlecraft) demimateria was the only tier you could get from items below lv50 (wth the exception being "clear" demimateria of course).
Also had no idea that furniture could be desynthesized for fieldcraft demimateria, so thanks for that! All that trash my retainers bring me could actually be of some use :P
Anything ilvl15+ seems to be t1. ilvl 55+ seems to be t2 (aetheryte rings always give t2). So far, my crafted ilvl70 items have always given me t3.
During the grind use HQ items, they give more points and keep their point value longer than normal items do.
I'm not so sure about this...
The reddit pages mention players performing tests and yielding no different results between HQ and NQ, and from personal experience I can saw I desynthesized a few (dozens, not hundreds like the reddit guys) and noticed no difference in skill, success rate, desynthesized item quality, or demimateria appearance rate between HQ and NQ items.
