About PSN Maintenance

seriously, Square Enix. you NEED to do something about the dependency your service has on the PSN. Sony doesn't even so much announce the time they put their service under maintenance. and there is no telling when it will come back up.

and yes... you DO NEED to do something about it. people are PAYING for YOUR service. i am sick of this internet communism crap. you get paid for a service... it's YOUR responsibility to see to it that people can actually USE your service.

it's getting old being told when we are and are not allowed to play the game. some of us play the game little enough as is. i may as well set parental controls on my system and BLINDLY enter a password.

Seriously its not SE responsibility to patrol psn, nor do they have a say in when or why they do maintenance. Suck it up and get a pc if you don't like it. For the record I play on PS4 so don't think I'm a pc elitist either, you've chosen your path.

They announce when PSN has scheduled maintenance. However, today is just due to PSN server overload. Keep trying and eventually you'll get in.

Yeah, and I can tell you why such an overload of the PSN today. the Destiny Beta release today.

Yep. Destiny is out today, and I believe it operates the same way this game does.

It puts a lot of strain on the service management side of PSN.

right i know about maintenance. it's a normal thing. and outages/overloads are a normal thing too. i don't care about that. the point is that they need to remove this dependency. i don't care what you say... they OWE it to their customers to ensure a quality and reliable service. we are paying for a service... it is their job to make sure this service is accessible. simple. it really is.

for crying out lout... a great deal of players use either the PS3 or PS4 system. these players may not be the majority. but they sure as heck ain't the minority either. they are only hurting their own business by not trying to figure out a way around the PSN dependency.



the point being... if they can work with Sony to prevent their customers from having to double-dip. then they should be able to get something to work with them to remove the PSN dependency as well.

Oh yeah, Sonys gonna be like naaaahhh! We don't want your money, use our service that we provided for free much longer than any other console or mmorpg. Sure use our service no prob we will foot the bill to keep the lights on for you.

let me just point out Netflix. yeah you need to be signed in to the PSN account to use netflix... but that is all! during the whole time during yesterdays PSN overload sign-in to the PSN was still possible. and Netflix was perfectly accessible with no problems. so if during the technical difficulties i could access Netflix... then Square Enix should be able to do it too. this has nothing to do with Sony making or not making money.

if Netflix can secure a reliable connection... then so can Square Enix. simple.
