    Status Effect Bar

So I play on a 14in laptop, and this can cause some issues when trying to fit everything into my hud and be readable. However from players I have talked to this seems like it would benefit everyone. Could we please separate the buff and debuff bar? On my screen I either have to have the buff/debuff bar so large it takes up a huge amount of space and blocks other things, or so small all I can see is that I have symbols and would have to actually look at them instead of using my peripheral vision.

Is there a reason why we can't seperate the 2 bars? It would be much more convenient for these not to be connected. I would like to be able to see both my buffs and debuffs and this is the 1 part of the HUd that's extremely restrictive. If you keep it the same maybe fix the way it scales? The box /space it takes up double but the symbols only get a little bigger, and way less resolution.

So very much seconded. And while we're at it, how about an option for your buffs/debuffs on target to be larger? It's a little difficult to keep track of MY effects on a target without turning on the thing that shows only your debuffs... which I have to then turn back off again when healing since it doesn't show debuffs on friendly players.

    Greetings,

Minagawa made a post concerning this topic recently that I would love to share with everyone.

As for the implementation timing, this feature has an average prioritization rank, and we plan on implementing it at the earliest in patch 2.38. If other tasks take more priority then it may be after 2.4.

    ■Separated buff and debuff display

In order to make it so that the display UI’s stress would not increase more than it is currently, we would have to optimize the current process speeds and create space as the separated display would cause an increase in stress and memory. As we do not currently have the margin for this, we cannot address it.

As there is no guarantee that we can achieve the target value for the required memory and speed, it’s difficult for me to promise that we can address this. I apologize.

I didn't know you could turn them off, much less that it affects party members as well. I would just like for the duration text color of enemy status effects to be different, I know they currently are, but from a distance the green/white contrast is not particularly easy to notice. Throws me off on SMN sometimes when there is another SMN or SCH dotting things up, have to look extra hard to make sure that is/isn't my dot. That's mostly a QOL thing, though.

That's unfortunate about the seperate display. Was going to ask if we could have a seperate bar for our dots too since I couldn't care less about what dots of 7 other people are on the boss too.

Again a memory issue though. It's conspicious how compared to other MMO's, simple things aren't available due to memory issues.

I'm not online so i can't exactly test this but are you dots not shown first in line? Then again (as I was typing i realized this) if its just you and another smn throwing out dots and nothing else is on the target i can see how it could be confusing.

Since something is coming, would it be possible to show your debuffs first on a focus target [because it's super random now]? The number of displayed debuff is already really limited, being able to track your DoTs on a FT would really help. Thanks.

This isnt a server memory issue, this is hardware memory issue, yes its a PS3 limitation, UI uses memory from the hardware, games with bad memory leaks do occur like Ive seen in a mmo before, when hiding the whole UI, you get 15-20 FPS more, I kid you not.
Im wondering more and more if addons will ever get released while the PS3 version is still supported, addons uses extra memory, if they cant get more from their own UI, then this is really damning.

What would be really nice is if we could specify the maximum number of debuffs we want to see on our target in the HUD. I NEVER want to see the second row of debuffs ever. 1 row of debuffs is enough to show me my debuffs and any buffs the target currently has. The rest of the displayed debuffs is superfluous and not really necessary.

Under normal circumstances, I can use the space where the second row of debuffs go to put some other HUD element there (such as my own buffs) because this space is never used. However, in certain circumstances (S hunts or during crystal tower) the target gets so many debuffs and I can no longer see whatever was in the second row.

Please let us choose to limit the number of debuffs to a much lower value if we wish to.
