Again a memory issue though. It's conspicious how compared to other MMO's, simple things aren't available due to memory issues.
The developers are taking a wrong approach to this situation. Instead of implementing obvious improvements on PC (and possibly PS4), they suffocate development for the sake of PS3 version. Before game's launch producer Yoshida was promising 1) addon support 6 months after release 2) to drop PS3 support if it turns out it holds back game development 3) to develop game primarily on PC and implement features back into consoles whenever possible 4) to incorporate the most popular functionalities from add-ons into the game so that console players can benefit from them as well.

But currently these priorities seem to have changed and improvements do not get implemented on all three systems if PS3 can't handle them.
In my opinion the developers should implement whatever they can on PC as soon as possible and later look into whether they can be ported into consoles. This way players could choose whether to get best features by playing on PC or play simplified version on their couch. Otherwise the unfortunate situation of FFXI will be repeated soon.
Diablo III and Phantasy Online 2, just to give two examples, don't seem to suffer same problem, so it's very much possible to do.
Because of this flawed development mentality the game is not as good as it could be. Feature implementation gets severely delayed, is done only partially or even new features do not get researched and implemented at all.
