That's unfortunate about the seperate display. Was going to ask if we could have a seperate bar for our dots too since I couldn't care less about what dots of 7 other people are on the boss too.

Again a memory issue though. It's conspicious how compared to other MMO's, simple things aren't available due to memory issues.

This isnt a server memory issue, this is hardware memory issue, yes its a PS3 limitation, UI uses memory from the hardware, games with bad memory leaks do occur like Ive seen in a mmo before, when hiding the whole UI, you get 15-20 FPS more, I kid you not.
Im wondering more and more if addons will ever get released while the PS3 version is still supported, addons uses extra memory, if they cant get more from their own UI, then this is really damning.

This is my point exactly. We already have a dev comment as to why it's hard to give us the option to save our PvP actions. I play a WHM mostly in PvP, but if I want to play my PLD I have to reset all the points and manually put them in the right actions again and then re-drag the abilities to my hotbars. This because the PS3's (and even the PS4's according by that dev) memory limitations. There was something else we got a comment on and it was again the PS3's limitations and now this topic.

I understand that there's a big group of PS3 players. However, a 2006 released console can only do so much. It's getting rather annoying.

The developers are taking a wrong approach to this situation. Instead of implementing obvious improvements on PC (and possibly PS4), they suffocate development for the sake of PS3 version. Before game's launch producer Yoshida was promising 1) addon support 6 months after release 2) to drop PS3 support if it turns out it holds back game development 3) to develop game primarily on PC and implement features back into consoles whenever possible 4) to incorporate the most popular functionalities from add-ons into the game so that console players can benefit from them as well.

But currently these priorities seem to have changed and improvements do not get implemented on all three systems if PS3 can't handle them.
In my opinion the developers should implement whatever they can on PC as soon as possible and later look into whether they can be ported into consoles. This way players could choose whether to get best features by playing on PC or play simplified version on their couch. Otherwise the unfortunate situation of FFXI will be repeated soon.
Diablo III and Phantasy Online 2, just to give two examples, don't seem to suffer same problem, so it's very much possible to do.
Because of this flawed development mentality the game is not as good as it could be. Feature implementation gets severely delayed, is done only partially or even new features do not get researched and implemented at all.

The low memory use is a testament to how careful they've been. Standing in Gridania it's using 640MB with textures and such up highest. Most MMOs have big issues with many players in the same zone. In Revenant's Toll I can be in a crowd of 100 or so and not a noticeable drop in FPS. Very busy hunts no notice of a drop. I do read some console players have issues sometimes but the PC client has been very well written.

Since something is coming, would it be possible to show your debuffs first on a focus target [because it's super random now]? The number of displayed debuff is already really limited, being able to track your DoTs on a FT would really help. Thanks.

What would be really nice is if we could specify the maximum number of debuffs we want to see on our target in the HUD. I NEVER want to see the second row of debuffs ever. 1 row of debuffs is enough to show me my debuffs and any buffs the target currently has. The rest of the displayed debuffs is superfluous and not really necessary.

Under normal circumstances, I can use the space where the second row of debuffs go to put some other HUD element there (such as my own buffs) because this space is never used. However, in certain circumstances (S hunts or during crystal tower) the target gets so many debuffs and I can no longer see whatever was in the second row.

Please let us choose to limit the number of debuffs to a much lower value if we wish to.

Agreed. I really wish they made this distinction something easier to see, like a thick solid outline around the debuff icon or something. I'm not sure if it's much better for PC players sitting a couple feet from the monitor, but trying to make out whether that tiny little number is in a white or pale green font color is nearly impossible from across the room (couch distance).

Well, if you don't care about other people's dots at all, you can turn them off entirely so it only shows yours. I'm not in the game at the moment, so can't say exactly where the option is, but look around in the character settings for a checkbox labeled something to the effect of "Show only detrimental effects you cast".

Console versions already have separate UI and lowered graphic resolution/framerate.
The post you're replying to was talking about PC minimum specs. The PC version lists what the minimum specs are that someone's computer needs to meet in order to play the game. They can't add stuff to the PC version that a minimum-spec PC cannot handle. That has nothing to do with consoles.
