    FusionX posted an article over on Gamerescape about how he feels and what he's witnessed with regards the Hunt system so far.

    I agree with a lot of what he has to say and while I was reading it, I began to wonder why the content had been implemented this way. I couldn't fathom it, but I did come up with an alternative solution, which I detailed in the comments of the article and will repeat here. Would appreciate any thoughts/criticisms!

    In my opinion, the hunts are a great concept, executed terribly. Why they chose to run them as essentially Unmarked FATEs, rather than a small modification of Treasure Hunts is beyond me.

    I suggest:
    - removing the current daily hunts for regular/FATE mobs. pointless.
    - instead put two rank B and one rank A bill up each day. Put a rank S up for each week.
    - while you have the bills in your possession, there is a chance that a little shiny silver ??? will appear somewhere in the appropriate zone for you and anyone in your party. Presumably that can't be totally random positioning, but perhaps randomised between 20-30 spawn points across the zone.
    - this chance is spawn-window based in the same way it is currently; 1hr for Bs, 4hrs for As, 48hrs for Ss.
    - once your party is gathered, like in Treasure Hunts, you can click the ??? to spawn the mob that pops locked to your party only. everyone in the party gets credit for the kill.
    - balance so that Rank B and A can be beaten by a light party and S by a very well-geared full party.
    - throw in a Bestiary log with the lore, like the sightseeing log, for good measure.

    If only all servers were at friendly as you say Adamantoise is.
    I'm on a Legacy server, it's pretty rough, haha.

    Though, I couldn't imagine swapping servers for something this minor.

    What I think they need to do is:

    -Raise daily/weekly rewards
    --also add Soldiery/Myth to the daily/weekly rewards
    -Make the weekly Hunt a random rank B mark for each player
    -Lower the rewards for B/A/S marks found in the open world
    -add Scailing to B/A/S marks HP based on the number of players in a certain proximity to them
    --Make the contribution threshold for getting full credit lower
    --Remove the ability to Provoke B/A/S marks
    -Make Sands/Oils of time be on a weekly purchase lock out

    There really is no reason to make The Hunt a forced pop like the Leve/Map system. The whole point is for it be an OMG experience when you run into one.

    I don't even understand why the NM aren't immune to provoke like fate mobs are this is up for all kinds of griefing. Also that app is hugely unfair to the other players that don't want to use them or can't use them because they play on console instead of PC.

    I will caveat this post with the fact that I'm not yet at the level to hunt, but have been in the vicinity and seen how stressed people get over them.

    The issue I see is that the risk/reward is off. I would change them as follows:

    1. Virtually always up somewhere in their area
    2. Lockout - 1 day for B, 2 for A and 3 for S
    3. Cap token rewards per week
    4. Lock the mob to the party/person that pulled, maximum 8. It would turn green to everyone else. If the party wipes, the mob walks off and vanishes (as it will probably have spawned elsewhere)

    By keeping mobs up virtually all the time it will mean that somewhere, somehow, players can find their mobs, and if they stumble across one which has just been pulled there's no incentive to grief as they couldn't hurt it even if the group wipes.

    This would require group play and would still keep some super strong mobs just strolling in open world.

    This is like the only thread about hunts that I could find that's positive about it.
    Was gonna make a new thread but I'll use yours instead to express my opinions!

    So far I am reaaally enjoying hunts. I think it's really fun exploring eorzea, and see other people around as awell scouting and such.
    Also so far I've had ablast in the groups i've been in and we're having so much fun.

    The hunt is best during the morning cause then the more mature ppl seem to play. Last morning we actually planned in what order to kill all the monsters (if we found multiple monsters) through /shout. Ls wasn't relly needed cause everyone shared

    And then as more ppl get online there will be more early pullers, and for some reason ppl don't let them die, instead they start attacking to soo afraid this ilvl 85 bard is gonna get the rank A monster all by himself.
    And during the evening hunting is nearly impossible.

    if you managed to get one A out of 3 you should consider yourself lucky.

    Then later at the start of the night the immature ppl have to sleep cause they are probably just 12 or so and then it's nice doing hunts again!

    I think the good things about hunts outwheighs the bad things, so I really like it. I also like how much myth we get. it was getting rather tiresome to do the same dungeons all the time for myth, so now I can get all my myth I need through hunts and I love it.

    All the S ranks and A ranks can drop Logs which gives sands and that is nice too cause that makes you excited over every A and S monster (I actually got 3 logs yesterday)

    Another downside wich I really dislike is that my server has some people that teleports around the map to find monsters, and when someone finds a monster they tp to that location instantly
    Apparantly it's not against the ToS to use programs to teleport around where ever you want (else they would've been banned a long time ago right?)
    And the persons who DO tp around all the time are also one of those that always pull 2-3 min early wasting half the servers populations time when they try to get to the monster.


    tl;dr
    There are some issues with hunts, but overall I really love it and I don't want them to change anything about it



    Edit: I want to ask a question too
    Whydo you want them to make a hunt lockout for seals? We have millions of lockouts that are forcing us to play in a specific way instead of going our own way (Like coil 2 and St where you can only get one loot per week

    Does anyone really enjoy being locked out from content?
    I've got 7 or 8 sands so far and this is the first time I feel like I can progress in my own pace. I mean like soldiery, when they first released it, everyone who capped were at the same page, whether they played more than others or not, cause they couldn't get more soldiery due to the cap

    Immunity timer will not work.
    Players then just keep the location a secret untill timer passed, only way to avoid is automated message for the players in area when the immunity timer starts!

    I suspect it's because you can only get one loot per week on SCOB and ST that players want a lockout. It shouldn't be easier to get the same gear from content without a lockout than it is from content with. Based on my experience from other MMOs, the raid gear should either be better than can be obtained from hunts (and not just in terms of min-max, but actually better) or the hunts should be brought up to the same difficulty level as raids or the hunts should have a lockout and the raids not (the price you pay for doing the easier content is that you can't gear up as quickly as if you did the harder content).
