Your favorite Dungeon & Why ?

Yes, tell everyone your favorite dungeon & the reason why!

I'll start with one the my favorites.

Favorite Dungeon: The Lost City of Amdapor.

    Reason:
The atmosphere in here is true to "Final Fantasy" if anything, its mysterious & creepy.
Something really bad happend to this city and i just wanna know more about this place.
Obviously the dungeon's final boss have had something to with it's destruction.
Also the music & sounds perfectly matches the atmosphere in here.

Thank you dev-team for this dungeon & wonderful music!

Not a dungeon par se, but... the Gilgamesh trial is made of absolute win. So much of the humour in FF series combat was missing until they added that.

Haha, yeah, Battle on the Big Bridge was the best - I had to stop myself from rolling around on the floor laughing from the fanservice jokes in the battle and actually concentrate on the fight. (Such as when Gil uses what he thinks is Excalibur, only for it to turn out to be Excalipoor and only do 1HP damage, a reference to a famously funny scene of his in FFV).

Haukke Manor SM was probably my favourite dungeon though - the whole haunted house setting was very well done, and still is quite challenging for those who don't pay attention. My only gripe was Lady Amandine was too one-dimensional as a character - I would have liked it if she actually taunted the player during the fight to help flesh her out better. But ah well.

I would say Haukke Manor HM and Tam-Tara HM, both. Why? Well, I like the gothic-y, macabre stuff the most. Both of those dungeons deliver in that front, especially Tam-Tara with its own sidestory to go with it.

I can't say for sure which one is my favourite. I do, however, have several dungeons that I adore for various reasons.

    In no particular order.
    1) Braflox's Longstop
This was the first real test dungeon when I was leveling up around release day.
The environments are gorgeous, enemies are fun, and it just had an excellent vibe.

The boss was the first time I genuinely felt challenged. This was when everyone was new and still learning.
We wiped for around 30-35 minutes on Aitar, and I loved every minute of it.

    2) The Sunken Temple of Qarn
    Mainly for the boss.
This was the first dungeon that I didn't complete my first time.
We wiped for around 20 minutes on the first boss, and probably 40 on the 2nd boss.

Didn't finish the dungeon, 90 minutes gone, and it was totally worth it.

    3) Hullbreaker Isle
    Environments. Enough said.

Preatorium for me, the music is just awesome plus it gives me the most final fantasy feel of all the dungeons. Swords, magic and tek!

Why I'm hoping for more Garlean content in the futire.

I'm gonna slightly cheat and list a couple here...

    pre-50 fave: Stone Vigil NM
Yeah, I know. That long-ass dungeon nobody likes because it takes ~40 or more to clear? Easily among my favorites. Why? Well, besides being in Coerthas, my favorite zone in the game, let me put things in perspective here:
You're breaching a heavily occupied enemy fortress. And the enemy is dragons. If you need me to say more, I have to respond by asking what is wrong with you. (Plus, Stone Vigil involves helping out Haurchefant. And that guy is a total bro.)

    Hardmode roulette favorite: Pharos Sirius
I continue my streak of weirdness, I see. And this comes from someone who healed PS pre-nerf; I know just what kind of Twelve-forsaken hell it was. And yet... it's an amazing dungeon. The lighting, the atmosphere, Siren herself, and that haunting song that plays at the start (and is then forgotten for reasons I don't think even Yoshida himself could comprehend)... It's also one of the few dungeons we had back in the day where you could actually look out and see the open sky beyond. I always remember noticing on the last stairs up to the Zu's chamber, seeing how the sky matched up properly to the weather. It's the little attention to details like that that make XIV so damned good.

Expert (and former expert) roulette favorites: Lost City & Hullbreaker Isle
And suddenly I'm mainstream again. *discards hipster glasses*
Lost City is... a masterpiece. The first time I set foot within, I felt my jaw drop and my heart skip a beat like I hadn't felt since the first time I ventured into the wilds of Coerthas. And damnit, I want to know more! What in the name of the Twelve happened there? What in the name of Thal's jock strap is Baalzephon, and what is the nature of the "white magestones" that empower it? And just what is the deal with the carvings on the tower top you fight the second boss on?

As for Hullbreaker... good lord that open space, that free air, that perfect, -perfect- sense of adventure... And the bosses hold some of the few really, really nifty mechanics in the game that patch 2.3 has been trying to introduce. (Boss 1 of Tam-Tara HM is another great example.) The Sjoorm fight (for reasons best unexplored, I like to call him Skülljagger) is particularly great at this, and I'll always feel privately proud for figuring out his primary mechanic totally blind my first time through.
... plus, the dungeon theme for Hullbreaker sounds like the Pokemon theme. That's just awesome.
