It's like when you order pizza and they charge you a delivery fee. As far as I'm concerned, the delivery fee is the tip. They shouldn't charge me a flat fee for something then expect extra on top of it.

Hoo boy, this comment affects me personally. In the case of pizza deliveries, that delivery charge never makes it to the driver 90% of the time. Most often, they are using their personal vehicles and pay out of their own pocket for gas to bring you your pie.
I deliver chinese food and this is the case for me. I also get paid nearly half of minimum wage because I'm considered tip-wage.

The high cost of gas and maintenance to keep the car running add up very quickly. We depend entirely on tips to survive.

The more people that think like you, the less likely I'm able to pay my rent this month. Please reconsider your stance on tipping.

Fixed. The WoW community was never this bad unless you were known for outright clearing guild banks then /guildquit, or scamming people out of money for whatever reason.

Yeah, I've had friends come to me asking what I did to piss of half of exodus because they joined a linkshell and were asked to black list me instantly. It's sad really. The things I've been told and called are the kicker. I've been told to go "f" myself, called a "b" a "fa" and asked how I managed to cross a border. My only response was ,"1st come 1st served" and a warning of being reported if they kept harassing me. Funniest is when I get called greedy for saying that b marks are meant to be soloed. Called greedy by 24 players who are farming hourly.

It's just depressing to see the community as it is.

Yep, same here. I want to solo/lowman hunts with friends, but I know it's just pointless when the hunts have just been released.
If I were the OP I'd just accept the fact that the majority of the players will go for the new content, and wait for things to cool down a bit. Much like in XI, the NMs will not be so ferociously camped forever.

Why wouldn't you tip someone who took the time to level their DoH classes and then take their time to meld your gear? They didn't have to level their classes or to offer you assistance. You could level your own classes since it's obviously so easy that it's not worth your money.

I always tipped crafters for melds, 1000 gil per materia and 1000 gil per grade (meaning, 6K to meld a grade II and a grade IV).... Only MUCH later I learned that almost nobody else tipped them. I didn't know whether to feel stupid, or a better person.

^ this. Common courtesy says to tip 20%, but I always give 50%. Unless the service was really shitty, i.e. X will arrive in Y minutes, X arrives in Z minutes instead (maybe half an hour later than Y) or the waiter/server/host(ess) was a rate dick.

Honestly OP while it was a B rank and thus anyone who would actually get angry over it is pretty silly, it would have been nice to have shouted it out in the zone, or found a party to kill it with. When people work together, they ultimately profit from the hunt. If the community could just operate on "treat others how you'd like to be treated", hunts would become a positive and enjoyable experience for more players, and everyone would get more rewards from it. I've seen this happen on my own server at certain times, and wow, hunts magically become fun and quite profitable.

I'm not saying you deserve the crap you've been getting for pulling two B marks, but ghosting kills is sort of frowned upon for good reason in my opinion.

Not entirely true. I came here from Lord of the Ring Online, and the word there is how great the player community is (or at least was when I was playing), but that the company had decided to stop any significant endgame development, which has put the game itself into a downward spiral.

I'll agree with that. I've never, EVER, seen anything quite like what is happening in XIV - not even in XI were things THIS bad. Yesterday morning I was trying to get a few FATEs in before work out in Coerthas and someone must have pulled a hunt because the shouts to blist him commenced and wouldn't stop for like 10 minutes. I couldn't BELIEVE the rage. I thought that Yoshi-P had this game well in hand but it's so freaking broken in so many ways that I'm not sure he can pull it back out of the ground. The speedrunning because dungeon design is a disaster, the rage over hunts, even people ragequitting because you didn't watch a Youtube video of a fight (SE, ENOUGH with the insta-death mechanics. It's TERRIBLE and LAZY design)...

I've seen elitists, and I've been in some hard core guilds that didn't put up with nonsense... but I've never seen the sheer amount of just plain... VENOM... as I've seen here the last few weeks. I think maybe I will check out that WoD beta after all. I just can't deal with the levels of stress the players in this game are causing anymore.
