Black Mage for a Noob?

I'm looking for a relatively stationary, DPS job to start. One that has a pretty simple PvE rotation. Would Black Mage be OK?

If you look for a simple rotation and simple Gameplay, I would rather recommend playing a Bard. I agree, the basics of BLM are easy to learn. But once you are Level 50 and dive into 8 man content where positioning comes into account and you don't just stand anymore and dish out Damage like you do in low level dungeons, playing BLM efficiently is not the easiest thing to do.

While Bard is mobile rather then stationary it is the easiest class in the game.
Black Mage as mentioned if you move spell casting gets cancelled but once you reach level 50 content their will be movement needed so you then must learn to minimize movement
as best as possible to get the most dps out of the job
