This is MMO, not single player. Go play with party. Simple as that.A few days ago I killed the S Rank in Coerthas and admittedly I didn't get there until it was about 40-45% dead so I wasn't expecting the full rewards, so it dies and I get 5 Allied Seals, 20 Myth and 0 Soldiery (I was capped) and I was fine with that result as it was also going in and out of view from the volume of players (On PC btw... this shouldn't be happening still.)
So, I just got done downing the S Rank in Northern Thanalan (Minhocao) and even after wailing on him for the entire duration of his life.... what did I get for it?
5 Allied Seals, 20 Myth, 5 Soldiery...
What? How? Why?
I'd have gotten far more by killing an A Rank from 50% onwards! Heck I'd have gotten more Myth from killing a damn B Rank from 50% onwards!
So why in the hell do S Ranks refuse to give a decent reward despite full participation?!
Was there for the S rank in Mor Dhona yesterday.
Got to it with about 80% HP left, my friend was already there from my party. Took a while to actually kill him. Got 5 seals. FIVE.
THATS ONLY FIVE SEALS ON AN S RANK. On top of him disappearing, they did not make getting credit "easier". If anything, it's harder.
If it was just you and your friend the party was too small. I've soloed a few B's from full hp and got nothing. It's like everyone else says. Gotta be in a party with more than yourself and one other person. And yeah I know your feel,it's like Odin and Behemoth they appear and vanish. Was there for the S rank in Mor Dhona yesterday.

Nothing to do with being in a party. You either have to tag or do 30% of the damage (including party damage) to get full credit. On my server there are so many parties showing up not all the parties even can get full credit.
Poor design is poor design.
Saw Naul yesterday, was there from beginning to the end, got 1 seal, 3 Myth and 1 Strat. Not even the weekly hunt got updated so Naul is still open for the weekly Goal. How am I supposed to land 30% of the damage? Oh I know, by not caring to wait and attacking instantly and beeing selfish. That's the team spirit lol. Almost like in the Real World. If you have no conscience and YOU come always first, you have a good chance to become rich.

It can't be tagging then cause I've solo'd and got next to nothing with no one else around.
Shouldn't be doing anything in Hunts solo. Unless you just happen across a B rank solo that you can actually solo. The harder A and S ranks were designed for a lot of players to take on which means you should be in a party. The whole party's contribution alone can help you if you are late arriving to a Hunt mob.
Today I was late getting to an A rank, and only managed to hit it with 3 skills before it died, but I still got the full amount of seals thanks to my party members that were there before me and dps'd it.
Join a party with someone in a LS (or a few LS) that track hunt mobs. Makes a world of difference, than just trying to go to the mobs by yourself.
This is what I've been told. Sometimes while I'm doing botany a hunt will spawn behind me or in vicinity. B rank usually, the first time it happened I fought it with a 2 person party. I got nothing and neither did my party member and it was just us. The second time I fought Bloody Mary with no one else nearby besides Selene and I. And I still got nothing. Then when I ran in a near full party I got full credit on an S.
Hmm, that's really strange. I've solo'd B's before and gotten the full rewards. I dunno what the deal is.This is what I've been told. Except, he wasn't alone, he was with tons of other people. He just didn't get a party invite. If there isn't a party in PF, it can be really hard to get an invite.
Another point - what happens when there's a B rank monster (or even an A) at an off time and nine people show up, or seventeen. One person will be SOL because no matter how much they contribute, because they can't join either party, they're going to get nothing. Fighting with others SHOULD be a requirement for full contribution. Being IN A PARTY with others shouldn't be required. It's not "solo play" or "single player" to MT a fate mob and have a bunch of people healing you without you being in the party, nor to go around healing everyone you see, or even just the MT. None of these things alone can win you the fight, or involve only you. But, hunts do not consider them to be "contributing" as much as someone in a party, but just autoattacking while afk.
And to the point of "parties help tanks/healers because they're at a disadvantage to DPS if everyone is unpartied," that's BS. Contribution is based on enmity (or at least it is for Fates, and I don't see why this would be different). Healers can generate tons of enmity by spamming heals. Heck, they can get tons of contribution by just spamming their biggest heal on the MT without being careful about overhealing. Tanks get massive enmity modifiers on their combos and, by definition, generate more enmity than DPS (or else they wouldn't be able to tank).
