Expell timer too harsh in Frontlines

My Frontlines queue popped and i accepted it already mounted up as i was running somewhere. Zoned in and sat there waiting for the 60sec timer to be up so the match would begin. Was just surfing the internet on my other screen when ENGAGE popped up only to go to a black screen and in my txt box it said i was expelled for inactivity. Inactivity while waiting for the match to begin?

I was on my bard so i had no buffs to give, and already mounted. Am i suppose to run around with my head cut off for a min so i don't get kicked as the match starts?

And then i had a 30 min debuff that prevented me from doing any pvp. GG SE.

You were AFK for two minutes AFTER the engage message popped up, as the expel timer is set to three minutes for PvP. Effectively, you were absent 20% of an average frontlines match. So, the problem is not with square, it is with you.

In fact, I believe the expel timer is too LONG. You should be discussing (or at least reading) strategies/ prep-ping for the fight. Maximum 120 seconds expel timer should be in order. You are PVP-ing (literally: the most hostile content), if you wish to AFK, please return to field hunts. I won't be surprised if you were vote kicked before 3 mins was up.

The starting wait is only 2 min. 3 min expulsion means you were AFK 1 more min AFTER the gates went up. As I said, you were probably vote kicked if the 3 mins weren't up.

You really should be paying attention to chat before the match starts. If nothing is going on in the chat and you just can't handle sitting still before the match starts, I suggest being the one who starts chatting strategy instead of tabbing out and risking getting kicked.

The words ENGAGE were still on screen when it put me to a black loading screen. I was inactive for the time it took for the match to begin.

Upon zoning in there is a 2 min wait timer, if you sit and wait for it to tick down it will expel you if you don't do something ingame while waiting.

Yeap. Proven wrong, got myself kicked in a similar fashion. Expulsion is 2 minutes which is at the gate opening time. Either way, you shouldn't be AFK-ing in there. Unless you gave up that is, even then just alt-tab to move slightly before every other minute.

Incorrect. If you do not move within a given time, even when it's waiting for a match to begin, there'll be a warning message popping up that you'll be kicked from the match. I had been on my chocobo waiting for a match and got the warning to move around... I was paying attention to chat, but simply didn't have a hand on my controls, and got that warning.

So after doing some Frontlines today i see no reason to not semi-afk once the match has been decided. The team in 3rd is usually a distant 3rd with no hope to catch up. So no reason for the players in that team to even bother doing anything. Just let the other 2 teams fight it out till one wins. If If you got personal exp/currency for killing and capping even if your in distant 3rd you can still boost your personal reward at the end of the match.

Ironicly while i was typing this i was waiting for the 60sec wait time for the match to start and was expelled just as the match began. Was mounted up and rdy to go but expelled just as it said ENGAGE!

Seriously...... and you are surprize why S/E put in a short expell timer? You are semi afk all the time. Do you aware that time is very important in winning Frontline? Spawn timer of Draones is critical.

Whoa, calm down please, you act like this is a real life war or something. It's a game, you can't dictate what the OP does and doesn't do while waiting for the gates to open. A fifteen minute frontlines match does not require rigorous prepping and research.
