Who is gonna raid now with the iLvl 110 gear handed to people??

What is the future of SCoB since you can gear up faster and easier with hunts Allied Seal. All I can see is less people raiding end-game, thus less experienced people. As a raider and as a person who puts a lot effort into it, I hope that a lot of cool content be locked behind SCoB so people will try raiding instead of just standing there with iLvl 110 "hunt" gear. Raiding community is so cool but I see less and less people doing it as time goes by.

Also, you'll be missing out on some major storyline. Sure, you can watch it from someone else's perspective, but what fun is that?

Plus, the battles are lots of fun. They're really a good test of playability with your job. Fun stuffs.

Actually, the OP is right, it will cause people to start doing coil less, just like Myth gear did to First Coil.

Is this really a bad thing? They'll be i110, but won't be all BiS. So there's some benefit. But if they would rather not raid... why try to force it?

As a BiS kind of player, I agree with this. Also, it will open the gates for the next end-game content. I don't care if people are decked out in sold ilvl 110 armor. There's no merit on it. The Coil gear for raiders are pretty much the reward for doing such content. Personal note: It also look waaaaay better than the sold gear. =P Not to mention the ilvl 115 weapons...

This is false.

If you go look up vertical progression systems, one of the biggest problems with vertical progression systems was that a gap would form in the community and it would result in the collapse of both communities.

To solve this issue "Up to Par" gear has to be given out all the time in vertical progression systems, especially MMOs that plan to release content on a fast track such as this one.

Giving "Up to Par" gear has much more supported evidence that more people actually do or CAN do the current content.

Without such a system most of us and those just joining, we'd still be at EX Primals. Go look at the requirements for some of the top FCs recruiting atm. If it wasn't for "Up to Par" gear, we wouldn't be anywhere close to those requirements. Its easier to teach players to become good versus trying to fight RNG to regear players so they can do content. A good player can be taught in a couple days or weeks. Gear can take months to years to obtain in some MMOs depending on how many tiers or arcs there are. I don't think most top tier FCs are going to re gear individuals for years so they can continue forward.

The intention of this gear is to EASE coil, for those who find it difficult, seeing as The Binding Coils of Bahamut are meant to be a challenge with a reward, of course people are still going to do coil.

As well as this a lot of BiS (Best in Slot) items come from ScoB.


And nothing else in-game compares to the High Allagan Weapons, that's e-peen and top-tier weaponry right there.

Let me ask you this, back then when the best gear is i90 (both myth and allagan) .... did that stop people from raiding?
