I joined a large community of hunters on Excalibur. There were at least 100+ of us finding marks, waiting a good amount of time to get there and killing them. Was very surprised at everyone being so respectful and I gained almost 800 marks and a hunting log drop just last night. I encourage other servers to build something similar, it seems like it works great. All they ask is you be respectful and don't pull early, and just gain high threat because that's what gets you max rewards from the hunt not damage.

This makes me wish I was on your server. My server seems to be full of people who are solely in it for themselves.I joined a large community of hunters on Excalibur. This is entirely within the realm of reason, that after the cowboyness of last week hunt slaughter that people could instead of wasting time fighting each other, things could stabilize and organize themselves into units to maximize hunting potential.
It greatly depends on the server of course but that is a possible outcome.

I just told my brother that they were and then I saw this thread. Here's the thing, if you give casuals an easy way to get "hardcore items" then the hardcore players are just going to monopolize it. It was a great idea but terrible in practice.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm seeing on my server. The hoards that win every monster, getting all their top marks are the people who used to do SCOB. So, the method they created to give more casual players a chance, just allowed "the rich to get richer."

That's the funniest part about this whole thing. A guy in my static basically refuses to do any of the other new content now as well because it "doesn't offer as good as rewards as hunts do" or some nonsense. Super irritating because it's become hard to get anyone together to do things like Ramuh.
