I don't participate but this system is broken, brings out the worst in people, and interest in raiding is at an all time low.
Before you accuse someone of "Being forced into the hunt" Please know what you're talking about.

I wasn't accusing you of that. I'm just saying: if you don't like it, just ignore it. Hunts are an entirely optional side system.

That's as maybe, but do you see the point he's making? The fact that the hunt system is broken and being abused means this "entirely optional side system" is negatively impacting other parts of the game. It's difficult to ignore it when stuff like that is happening.

Yeah, that's a fair point. But SCoB (And first coil when it was the only coil) can bring out a lot of bad in people too. SE can't fix people.
Now hunts could definitely use some adjustments on the technical side to encourage community building and such, but "I don't like system X so remove it" (and "ban everyone successful at it" and so on) isn't productive to that conversation. OP, on the other hand, had an actual idea which may help with one of the system's flaws.
Wow. If you don't like it that much, why come to a thread about it and get all agressive. Pretend it doesn't exist.
I'm going to assume your aggressive attitude is due to lack of sleep from camping Naul all night with no kill =P
I'm not really being aggressive, i'm just being brutally honest. What i'm especially urked at is the decreased interest in T6-T9
Hmmm. I keep hearing that from different people. I guess I can give you some peace of mind by saying that my Static and I are doing hunts for the exact opposite reason. This is the quickest way to gear up for Coil, thus we are taking advantage of it as much as possible![]()

Actually, this can backfire. I play regularly in a group of five, and we knew that since we'd be needing to take on pick-up members to do Coil we should be well-prepared so as not to make poor use of their time. We pretty much all had ilvl 90 or better gear when we started out... and pretty much wound up facerolling Turns 1-3, and Turn 4 only gave us a little trouble (still working on Turn 5). We have very little incentive to repeat Turns 1-4, as we already have gear as good as or better than anything that drops in those Turns.
The same thing will happen with unweathered Weathered Gear. Folks will use Hunts to get decked out to improve their chances once they start in on Coil 2 - but after beating each Coil 2 once, there's not much reason to go back to any of the Turns that don't provide lvl 115 stuff, and barely any reason to do the ones that do.
This won't be a solution to decreased interest in Coil 2. It essentially allows folks to BYPASS most of Coil 2, as they'll only have to do most Turns a single time in order to progress.
Whats funny is that the people farming the hell out of this to upgrade their gear with Sands and Oils will go into Coil 2 after already getting Max iLevel and think they actually accomplished something by being over geared lol To me it seems the Hunt System was put in place to give casuals/non-hardcore raiders the opportunity to get gear upgrades.
Also the system really isn't broken in my opinion. What is broken is SE's ability to monitor and police their own game to prevent 3rd Party App Abusers. If they had released the game with some kind of anti-cheat system in place they may have had an easier time finding and disciplining the cheaters and there by discouraging more cheaters.
