Most of the time I'm pretty happy with the armor on females. Though the Noct six-pack is a bit odd looking, especially on the smaller characters.

I do wish there was some fancier "lighter" tank armor that might suit a Warrior's brand of tank a bit more instead of what I see as more Paladin-oriented suits of metal.

Plate Armor is designed to deflect blows to the outside, as such is designed without those deviations on purpose. Not to mention there's quite a bit of space underneath just to allow for padding and such. Once you get to that point, the figure of the person underneath is pretty much gone. When looking at the armor of course.

There's even places where they go into details about this, and things like small engravings on the armor being bad.

I guess my main sticking point with the Guardian's chestpiece then, is based on the guy's sig portrait, the stuff is practically skintight, whereas the other armor-armor in the game tends to have a little more room.

The problem I have with it is not that it doesn't show the character's form, but it looks so tight that it must be crushing her.

ok, since you want to speak of reality, let talk of it, a women with the build of a miqo'te will not wear the same armor than a women roe, since this two race are extremely different in them body.
the miqote is more swift and slim than the roe girl... same between men and women. but here, we do wear the same armor!
i do remember the picture of the full noct on a miqo'te male and women side by side, exept the head.... they look exactly the same! our character become a man... when they are more slim and atheltic in the build... why can't we have armor adapted to our body?

and yes i was talking of the pauldron early, some pauldron bug violently when you run on the miqote or are too big for her.

Could ask you the same. Not all of the armor has realistic bits, but some do and some more so than others.

To avoid further discrimination I have a complaint that certain gear pieces make my male character look like he has tiny/microscopic dik - SE should fix this issue along with missing breast.

This is why I just went for the healer gear, makes up for the gender-neutral uglyness of the guardian armor.

You didnt take reality into account at all. Also swiftness is not a physical attribute it's a description of performance.
