lowest ilvl desynth

What is the lowest ilvl item I can desynth and still produce Battlecraft I and Fieldcraft I? I don't have a lot of money to comfortably do this without asking this question. Would like to pick up my master books and start saving to craft the new DoH accessories. Thanks!

As I worked my way up, I started getting grade 1 demi's when I began desynthing items between ilv28-32. Because materials of that level can still be bought at beast tribe vendors and housing vendors, I managed to get my master book without spending much.

Are you a GSM by chance? I happen to be desynthing as a GSM. I've found that the horn armillae were decent for Battlecraft, but haven't found a real cost-effective item for the Fieldcraft I materia. Any suggestions?

Buy crafting/gathering rings from the NPC brass/silver. The silver ones will give you back silver ingots you can resell for most or all of your costs back. Any fieldcraft materia should be sold until you have enough gil to keep leveling your desynth skill. I sold about 2mil in demi materia I/II. Once you are beyond leveling off of silver you will need to make/break items. I just looked for items that took 1 material that was cheap and did those until they gave no more skill. Also, equip cheap crafting jewellery so you can be making materia while making/breaking for desynth skill.

Any fieldcraft materia should be sold until you have enough gil to keep leveling your desynth skill. I sold about 2mil in demi materia I/II. Once you are beyond leveling off of silver you will need to make/break items.

Personally, I won't do that.

You will need 10 fieldcraft materia to make those new Dodore jewelry, which goes for 200-500K on my server. Plus you will need 35 of both fieldcraft and battlecraft for your 7 Master II books.

Go level up your miner. All the materials you need comes from it: cooper, bronze, brass, silver, mythril, electrum.

I personally got all my battle/field 1 demimateria without having to set foot outside the GSM guild.

Bat Fang Needle (lv 16), Brass Earrings (lv 17) and Brass Ring of Crafting (lv 20) can turn into fieldcraft 1
Brass Ring (lv20) can turn into battlecraft 1

I was only getting about 1 non-clear demimateria from every 10 or so desynths this way, but it was a pretty darn cheap way to get enough to unlock all the new recipes.

for me it was just easier to buy them.. but now I'm desynthing a lot more and have sold back the equivalent to what I bought.

on some of the higher level gear I started getting 2 fieldcraft and battlecraft materia per desynth. (not at the same time)

but it wasn't very cost affective even though I gathered nearly every material myself.

much quicker to buy vender made gear to break down for the demimateria
