About the need/greed not instantly ending when all the players able to need have needed: I think it's a good system as it is. Loot can be a really big deal with weekly lockouts and RNG drops being RNG, and sometimes accidental button presses happen or some miscommunication occurred before everyone has rolled. The current system allows players who've erroneously rolled leave the instance, and NOT take the one piece which hasn't dropped for 3 months and possibly won't drop until the next patch, away from another player. The current system is safer, even if sometimes you have to deal with players who don't roll and the countdown has to end for the piece to drop.
