Feedback on Character Design

The decision is about what you like, not what the rest of us like. Personally, I'd probably go for the first one, as I like the slightly warmer tone, but then I tend to pick deeper colors in the hair as well, and Nane-chan has a point about the paler skin complementing the light colored hair. They both look good.

There are a couple options if you decide later you want to change anything in your appearance:

1) At level 15, there's a quest called "Beauty is Only Scalp Deep" that unlocks the aesthetician. This allows you to change several (though not all) aspects of your character's appearance. It's free the first time you use it and available for 1000 gil thereafter. (Early in the game, that's a lot of gil, but as you progress further, and gil starts to roll in faster, it soon looks quite reasonably-priced.) I know hairstyle and color can be changed. I believe skin tone is another of the features that can be changed. Can anyone confirm that part? If not, I'll check this evening when I get home.

2) There's a potion called Fantasia that allows you to re-do all of the appearance options on your character (even race and gender if you want, but not your name). You'll receive one the first time you extend your subscription beyond the initial trial month you get with purchase of the game. The only way to get more than that one is to pay real money for them through the MogStation.

I'm going to guess that the first skin tone is just a shade or two above the second. While moving vertically on the color palette, the skin tones in character creation are weird sometimes. But I digress... Taking all of the colors into account, personally, I like the look of the second skin tone. His hair is light and ashy-brown, which compliments the slightly paler skin.

wow! lol you are alarmingly correct on the "one or two above" with the shades. It's only 2 up vertically on the palette. Kudos to you and your eye for detail! that's very impressive. And i see what you're saying about the tones; the color palette can be odd. Your post was very insightful. I think you're saying that the second one is the paler one? I prefer the skin tones with more red in them. It makes them look healthier than the skin tones with more blue in them.

So I say, go with the 'warmer' of the two ^^
