Then surely the last thing you want to do is wait 8 hours for 2 seals. You'll get way more than 2 in one hour of a hunt party. I got about 60 last night in the hour I put in.

Thing is, if you're in a Hunting party, then all you're doing is Hunting. You are actively scouring areas for Hunt mobs to kill, and if you're not then you're a leech. In a Hunting party, you are doing nothing but running, and running, and running, and hoping that you find a pop before someone else does, and hoping that if someone ELSE in your party finds a pop you can get to their position before the Horde moves in.
For FATEs, though, you're free to do pretty much anything you want as long as you stay in the same zone. You can craft, gather, do other FATEs for Atmas or Alexandrite. Heck, you don't even have to do stuff IN GAME - waiting on a FATE, you can do housework, read a book, cook food, whatever.
Daily hunts allow you lots of flexibility with how you spend your time waiting for pops. Hunting parties do not, and the way you need to spend your time is anything but fun.
And you missed my point. I'm not mad. And I admitted I could have just moved on and done other things. I didn't because, at a certain point, I became genuinely curious as to how long this was going to take, and why in the world would they assign a Daily to a FATE that takes hours to spawn. That makes no sense.Don't be an ... sitting and waiting for hunt/fate to spawn and getting mad it doesn't spawn exactly when you want to. Either do something fun or if you really want the fate to pop up in abandoned area then finish nearby fates, mobs etc to let server understand there is some activity happening in area.
This is the system that they expected us to use to get these seals, but then make it almost worthless to do so. I just don't understand that.

Don't bother with daily hunts. The FATE one only gives 2 allied seals and you could have gotten 100x in 8 hours by hunting in party. There's no point to them.
You just had bad luck and he popped while you weren't there.

I tried doing the dailies once and accumulated 5 hours of time waited without seeing the fate spawn. 3 hours in one session, and 2 in another. Then I just gave up and trashed my hunt.
Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.
Yeah, it seems kind of funny the fate based hunts have worse wait times then the elite ones, and they aren't even being camped or searched for by hundreds of people.
Some FATEs spawn timers are just wrong.
I waited yesterday 5 hours for "The Taste of Fear" in Coerthas....
"The chance of a FATE occurring will increase the more time passes since its last occurrence, increasing the overall frequency of FATEs."
Someone check if that is working as intended...
5 hours....in that while, Bellyfull spawned 8 times, the Svara chain 4 times, Roc of Ages 5 times and The Eyes Have It 3 times....
Did laundry, watched a couple NBA summer league games, watched the rage-shouts in game every hour Naul spawned....really fun.
