It's a really sad commentary on the daily hunts vs. the regular elite boss kills discrepancy when you need to spend hours waiting for some of these FATE bosses to pop (I got Seps as one the other day and said screw that) in order to get 2 seals when there are something like 100 B rank bosses that would pop in that time period (and each give 5 seals), or 17 A rank bosses that probably pop about as frequently as the buggy fates do and give 20 seals.

Said it before and I'll say it again: Whenever they link FATEs to some kind of system (animus/hunts) they all suddenly seem to get "broken"...

    FATEs are awful.

    Hunts are worse.

In both cases, you spend hours waiting for something to pop in order to be rewarded. In the case of FATEs, you can spend that time productively doing other things. In the case of Hunts, you spend that time doing completely unproductive running around. Even more telling, with FATEs once the pop occurs you have a pretty good chance of getting the reward you're after. Hunts, as often as not, someone else will reach it first leaving you empty handed, or TOO MANY will reach it leaving everyone with bare scraps.

Both are abhorrant systems, but FATEs are the lesser of two evils.

I personally waited six hours for "Taken" to pop in Southen Thanalan (and I'd also waited four hours for it the night before), so this doesn't strike me as impossible. How you can expect anyone could provide a link to prove they waited eight hours for a FATE, I have no idea.
