8 Hour Wait for a FATE for Daily Hunt

I had some time to kill this morning before work so I accepted my Daily Hunts and got to work. Finished all of them fairly quickly, but still needed Daxio of the Dawn from a FATE in East Shroud. So I settled in to wait for it. I waited 2 hours until I had to go to work. Found it strange that it hadn't popped in 2 hours, but whatever. I live very close to work so I came back home on my lunch break and tried again. Another hour, nothing.

After work I tried again. I'm currently at 5 hours after work of waiting and still no FATE, for a grand total of 8 hours without seeing it.

That seems to me excessive for a Daily Hunt. It shouldn't mean the Hunt takes an entire day.

Sure I could have given up, walked away, said screw it and moved on. But now it's personal.

Some FATEs are broken, despite a dev looking into some popular ones with huge wait times like "Giant Seps" and saying there is no problem, there obviously is something going on. It doesn't take a statistician to see that some pop every on average 3+ hours and others rotate in as short as 30 mins etc...

You are not just having bad luck and the FATE pop times are indeed not RNG.

bah normal hunts are worthless. If you really need seals try your luck in hunting elites like the REAL hunters :P

That's another problem : hunt daylies are useless... The Fate hunt daylies should give at least 20 seals (and I still think it's cheap for the wait of some of them)
The nalance between reward for hunt (weekly, daylies and Elite) is totally broken...
Doing daylies should give more, weekly should give a lot more, and hunting elite out of weekly should give less (like a lot less) this way, they won't be that much people over farming elite. It is the grind Fate for XP problem all over again :/

REAL hunters? You mean join a linkshell full of people who have little else to do with their time than follow spawn timers and coordinate locations.
If it was real hunting I'd be able to find Naul on my own and kill it without the clown parade in tow.

Don't need to have an LS. Just get together a group of eight, have everyone scour a different zone, call to your party when you find something. Optionally (but common courtesy) shout once your party's in-zone or at the mob. Did it this way last night and had a -lot- of fun doing it, ended up with about 60~70 seals from just the last hour or three before maint hit.

8 hours accumulated is not 8 hours continuous wait. Misleading topic title.
Giant Seps can apparently spawn faster if you kill dragonflies near where the FATE is supposed to be.
So if you don't want to wait for it to show up on its own, try that.

Can't say about the sylph fate, but I saw it often enough in that zone.

Don't be an ... sitting and waiting for hunt/fate to spawn and getting mad it doesn't spawn exactly when you want to. Either do something fun or if you really want the fate to pop up in abandoned area then finish nearby fates, mobs etc to let server understand there is some activity happening in area.

Don't bother with daily hunts. The FATE one only gives 2 allied seals and you could have gotten 100x in 8 hours by hunting in party. There's no point to them.
