The WHM specifically said "230 seconds for glamour". I think that makes the reason obvious. Pretty childish reaction to someone needing on gear, per the rules of the game.

In a situation like this theres a sure fire way for me to decide if Im going to be nice and pass on tank gear when Im tanking if its only a glamour/Seals item for me.

1. Was the person/people in question a jerk ass or bad at their job?
2. Did THEY pass or greed on Job Loot that was not an upgrade for them but a glamour/seals turn in.
3. Did they mention that they were looking for upgrades to an alternate Job?
If situation one I'm needing. If situation they did pass/greed in situation 2 then Ill return the favor and greed/pass in deference to the group. If situation 3 then Ill pass on the item if its not an upgrade for me.

As for the whole sitting at the end of a dungeon and letting the timer run trying to wait people out to get the loot by default pass, yeah that tells me they're clownshoes and don't deserve my kindness. I'll roll need and "/p Going for a smoke/snack enjoy wasting your time on the timer." Assclowns will be assclowns no matter what so just let it roll off you.

No matter the reason, even if you want to get GC seals, the need button is there, you click, it gives you a number and not telling you that you already have it in your posession: It can be rightfully yours.

What we do in our FC, we wait a bit that the one in which it can go, will mention if it will pass on it, or not. like 'Free to loot', or 'I Pass'.

Just waiting and saying nothing is one thing: Stating that they will make them wait for 230 seconds, is pure.. sadism.

It was for glamour, so you should have rolled greed on it. You don't NEED to glamour stuff, you WANT to glamour stuff. I hate when people who clearly don't need gear roll need on it anyway.

As some stated: if a WHM wants a PLD gear (like he REALLY needs it), get into PLD and then problem solved.

And yes - if you want to Improve your character, not only from stats, but esthetically, you NEED that item. It's not greedy, it's part of this game, else you would see everyone looking the same.

They might need to rework the Need/Greed options, so that once a main job click need, all others greed gets cancelled and passed. If 2 same jobs Need it, still RNG.

What you do with your gear/items is no one else's business. You all completed the dungeon, each playing your roles. Fair for everyone.

DC sucks bad - my FC mate is the only one that constantly keeps DCing, since patch 2.0 - shrugs

I dont think the healer really did anything wrong. If I want something for glamour I will always greed over need if its not an actual upgrade to give everyone a fair shot, and when I go in with premade groups I tell them right away if I want something specific and ask if that's okay. Yeah its pretty annoying to have people wait for timeout, but whether or not someone's DCing, there's always someone waiting the full timer in hopes that other people will get bored and leave. Its not against the rules even if it is annoying.

I dunno, I'm not doing it to troll or be a jerk but...

If I legit need something as an upgrade, and have to compete for it or am not on the right job at the time. And I know someone is taking it for glamor/ seals (Seals... SO ANNOYING to see someone admit it), then I will wait the full timer in case they leave/rush out or even DC.

I've even kindly asked before, and the response is almost always directly rude, with the person responding they want to desynth/glamour/exchange for seals/put it on retainer. So often has the response been rude that I stopped bothering to ask, it just escalates the situation and stress.

I don't get why people keep using the "upgrade" argument, all it takes is ONE SINGLE A rank elite to get an i90 blue piece, gear from dungeon is only an upgrade for perhaps a few hours until the person has enough myths or seals to get something better, with drops from those dungeons the need to wear isn't any more important than the need to glamour or need to get seals, or need to get retainers to i80 in order to do the new venture (some items are exclusive from that venture), or the need to raise your desynth level. i80 dungeon gear will probably last longer as a glamour appearance than for someone who will get another upgrade the next day.

Want (not need) the drop? Come as that class or suck it up.

This is a good idea. If someone used Need, it should lock out the Greed button for everyone else. Independently, it should be set to auto-pass an idem if Need and Greed are unavailable to you. This would make runs in Syrcus Tower a little easier if people who cannot lot that week had all their stuff auto-pass.
