FC Ready Check is toxic

They're elitists & kicked me & my friend for reasons that were not fair. I joined a raid group there & I told the raid group I was going to a concert during one of the raid nights, I even mentioned it in the FC chat hours before ( none of my raid group was online ) but I figured I'd say it in the chat so there was some sorta record.

Anyways, went to the concert & hung out with friends, came home bam I get kicked. Cool. It wasn't a big deal, this FC treats the game like a job & even interviewed me ( yikes ) to join.

Anyways no biggie, I didn't care because if I got kicked for mentioning my absence & having a real life outside of FFXIV got me kicked, I knew I wasn't a right fit. Anyways, flash forward to today. My buddy who I got invited into the FC was doing Hunts. I asked for a invite into the Link Shell & it turned out the LS was headed by the guy who was in the toxic FC that kicked me.

Anyways, I got invited & I got kicked instantly. Alright? Cool. Then my buddy is reading what they're saying about me. That I'm a horrible person & all these things even though I did nothing but tell my FC in advance of real life things happening & because of this one thing they're treating me like the Anti-Christ.

The LS goes nuts, starts asking everyone who invited me. They eventually contact me & ask me who invited me & I didn't tell them. My friend didn't even know his FC was in the LS. He was in this LS before I believe & didn't see it as a problem to invite mw. Anyway they go nuts.

They start berating him, berating me & being so salty & toxic it's revolting to watch. They end up kicking my friend from the FC & say there's a "2 week probation period" that they're allowed to kick anyone they want. The funny part is that people within this FC were vouching for me & saying they did read about my absence but didn't know who to ask.

Case in point, by now you're reading this & probably rolling your eyes in disbelief. I agree with that. Lets just say they kicked me, my friend & waited in silence for my buddy to leave their LS. Now we're out of that FC & have come to the conclusion that this FC, Ready Check, is as toxic, vile & ridiculous as they come.

I'm starting my own FC tomorrow & I'm making a drama free FC where none of these toxic slanderous people can be. This is a game about fun & having fun with your friends. It's not your job, it's not your life & it surely shouldn't be taken seriously to the point that you're treating admissions into your FC like a career choice.

Thanks for reading guys, I've now learned that it's pointless to join a FC nowadays. I'll be in my own, where things won't be ridiculous. And I'll play the game, 'cause y'know there's real life too. Thanks for reading.

I should probably add a little here that I don't find the entire FC is toxic. It seems like it's just a token few but that token few is enough to sour the entire bunch. So yeah. No thanks.

Took me to the third post to realize what you mean by "FC Ready Check". I thought it was some new system to do a FC-wide Ready Check.

Haha nah. They're called Ready Check. I don't think the entire FC is bad, there were some cool people from what I interacted with. But those few guys I encountered were a bit craaazzzy. The higher ups I assume. They interviewed through like TeamSpeak to join lol. A little crazy. Ah well. This thread post if anything is just to warn newcomers or anyone looking to join an FC to maybe avoid this one just because they're very toxic & hardcore to the point that I don't think it's for the best interests of players. An FC is a place for people to come together & have fun, not be attacked, studied, rated & thrown aside because of little missteps.

So I would say look into other FC's. The Last Exiles & Final Fantasy are good ones, I'm forming my own though. Enjoy FFXIV.

In general any fc that interviews ppl like a job is bound to turn out bad for newer recruits.
They probably were more nicer/lenient before all this endgame content popped up.
I can name quite a few and imo this won\\'t be breaking ToS as i am not adressing an individual but i am adressing ppl as an overall group.

Not all ppl in these fcs are bad it\\'s just tht the ones that r toxic and tryhards overshadow the good thus tainting the reputation as shady, toxic, elitist, troll, etc.

I went thru this during the start of 2.2.
I felt very hurt because i trusted them etc but i just didn\\\\'t make the cut due to the leader\\\\'s ideal view.
Soon after my former fc mates left tht fc due to them trash talking fellow mates.
Then that fc leader decided to merge fcs and become the abomination known as Cough* Demi. Its a cestpool of elitism at its finest.

But gl on making a new fc if you got no LS buds in the same boat as you as recruting fresh players acts like a bandaid that will fall off in the following weeks to come.

Honestly beyond this FC I feel like as a whole the entire "Hunt" situation has also made people extremely toxic. I joined this FC last week maybe Tuesday/Wednesday. So Fresh off of 2.3 & it wasn't AS bad per-say. It wasn't by the weekend that it got pretty bad. Then again one of the healers in my raid group, whom I won't mention their name, was also extremely toxic. This healer was angry & using /tell to tell me that I needed to act a certain way & it was quite...disturbing to say the least. I feel like people take things too seriously & the environment right now of this game has rotten'd the community even more.

Nevertheless I say if you want to stay drama free, stay away lol.

There's two sides in a story unfortunately. I, for one, wanna hear their side. Maybe it's an accumulative thing and this was the final straw. People enjoy playing the victim as if they are completely innocent in everything. I'm not saying you are playing the victim in just talking generally.

Oh and you might wanna avoid mentioning names and such. It would probably count as shaming.
