    I think you had to go to "Font Settings", click "Use Windows system font", chose any font and uncheck the checkbox again.

    If a directX update doesn't solve it -> disable DWM

    Well I did that, still get the error, but it seems the error message just sits in the background while the game continues to run fine. strange...

    As far as I know, DWM only exists with Vista and Windows 7, I'm using XP...
