Glad to hear people complaining about enmity management, particularly the mages. I loved that in FFXI you (as a healer, and DPS for that matter) had to manage your hate properly. What does this mean if you are a mage? Well, you can't spam cure. Sometimes you have to let tank cure themselves, or build hate, and stay in the yellow/red a bit bc those last few seconds will prevent hate being ripped off if you cure. You shouldn't be updating your Netflix queue when main healing. Large part of the "skill" is sensing when you can and can't heal, and you get that from being immersed in the ebb and flow of battle; not just watching a health bar go up and down.

Lastly, think about it for a second. If you are attacking a group of monsters, and one monster in the back is curing the one you are currently targeting, doesn't it make sense to attack the one curing first/more often? I think so. So apply that logic to the current cure-hate complaints. It makes sense that any cure would draw lots of "hate." Aren't you pissed when someone undoes something you are working on? I am. Makes sense that battles are not clean-cut rather a sort of bloodied mess where the mage has little mp, is dinged up, and the tank is sweating. I like that!

Just my 2 gil.
