Perfect is a bit much but yeah, loving this update. Actually got me playing and ENJOYING the game for once.

Only thing I want right now is to turn off ambient noises... or at least have a volume setting for it..
I'm more disappointed with all the bugs that came with 1.8 and the fact that the flags don't move. No wind in Eorzea? No shadows at the camps, Ul'dah weapon skins just look plain. Ul'dah Scimitar looks like a giant butter knife. Starting to feel like SE design team is running out of imagination.
I don't have any problems with the hate system, auto attack, or the healing changes. Repair system hmm... not a big fan but i can live with that.
Glad to hear people complaining about enmity management, particularly the mages. I loved that in FFXI you (as a healer, and DPS for that matter) had to manage your hate properly. What does this mean if you are a mage? Well, you can't spam cure. Sometimes you have to let tank cure themselves, or build hate, and stay in the yellow/red a bit bc those last few seconds will prevent hate being ripped off if you cure. You shouldn't be updating your Netflix queue when main healing. Large part of the "skill" is sensing when you can and can't heal, and you get that from being immersed in the ebb and flow of battle; not just watching a health bar go up and down.
Lastly, think about it for a second. If you are attacking a group of monsters, and one monster in the back is curing the one you are currently targeting, doesn't it make sense to attack the one curing first/more often? I think so. So apply that logic to the current cure-hate complaints. It makes sense that any cure would draw lots of "hate." Aren't you pissed when someone undoes something you are working on? I am. Makes sense that battles are not clean-cut rather a sort of bloodied mess where the mage has little mp, is dinged up, and the tank is sweating. I like that!
Just my 2 gil.
AND I AGREE!
its good watching ppl who thought they were good at a broken game and complain now cause they cant handle the game the way it should be.
Me personally i was sick of playing call of duty while i sit there spamming aoe cures LOL
It saddens me that a lot of the ppl complaining played FFXI also.. i mean if they never played FFXI prior then fine.. but like come on
That's one small step for this patch, one giant leap for FFXIV Future!
I also wouldn't say perfect but it's not too much of a stretch to say that 1.20 should get the game to the point where it should have been at launch. Imagine how the game would have launched had Yoshi-P been running it from the start and actually taking in the Beta feedback. Most of what we are seeing is amended versions of what Beta testers said.
Combat fluidity and Auto Attack
Targeting and Camera controls
Change to Physical Level / Rank system
Class specialization
Transportation Adjustments
Simplification of Crafting
Here is what I would still like to see implemented
Auction House
Way to Stack Items
Option to turn off tool-tips
Change to selected skill indicator (Can't really tell what skill I'm on)
Better response time on item transactions
Auto Attack while your action bar is closed
Multiple Action Bars or more spaces
Givens:
Chocobos
Class Balancing
Other than that, mechanically it's pretty sound now. Just tweaks and balancing needed. And content of course!
Tbh I wouldn't go as far to say v1.18 wasperfect. However, it was a very good patch. I agree with the general feel of this thread that it has introduced a few dimentions to this game, as well as a creative and challenging spin to otherwise stale and over farmiliar classes.
I still see this patch as laying the foundations to what this game will become. I like most here, now have very high hopes for the future of this game. v1.18 has set the standards for the future patches, I truely hope Yoshi-p and the dev team do not let us down after the great v1.18 kick-off.
I agree alot with these suggestions. But I would not want the growing mechanics to suffer greatly for them.Combat fluidity and Auto Attack

Stacking foods perhaps?
Im iffy bout having a auction house.. i mean sure its a drag going ward to ward to buy things.. but i sometimes prefer that over a million ppl and their mules standing around town. But i love the AH damn it!
I wish our UI was client side base as oppose to server side.. its faster after the update but still slow.. takes me forever to sell things WHICH LEADS ME TO... a multi sell function for all those useless drops.. one by one is meh
