WHM Looking for active FC to call home.

So, how to begin..

I'm a returning player that loves everything about this game, but had to take some time off because of other priorities. Unfortunately my inactivity has left me without an FC and I figured it'd be good to probe the forums to see if there's anything out there for me.

Due to length I have to do a multi-post :x
I'm sorry for sounding so formal and the hefty read.

A little about me: Currently I'm only playing this game casually, because I just don't have any goals at the moment. I'm hoping this post will fix that, because I want a reason to continue playing this beautiful game. I'm a WHM with THM and ACN partially leveled for the cross abilities and rocking crystal tower gear. I don't actually have any raid experience in FFXiV. Right now I'm focused on trying to get my botany and weaving to max level, but I'd be interested in achieving something larger afterwards(possibly over the weekend?). I'm part of a multi-title MMO community(www.severitygaming.com) that has its main branch in World of Warcraft, which I'm a part of, that focuses primarily on endgame progression. I raid with them tue/wed/thur 8pm-12am EST. Unfortunately they don't have anything in FFXiV, so I've been feeling rather alone whenever I play this game. :/

About my values: I crave progression and prestige. Gear to me is just a means to make bosses dead. Of course I like getting it, who doesn't? It's shiny and strokes your Epeen, but I would rather a piece of loot go to a fellow raider/friend than to myself if it is better itemized or a bigger upgrade for them, anything that benefits the group most. I actively seek help from players who I believe can help me improve my play, because I want to perform at a level I can be proud of. That means I can take criticism maturely. When I finally do find the group of players I feel at home with, I'm incredibly loyal and can get very passionate about the game and the things we do together. To me, an MMO is nothing without friends. Achievement is empty without someone to share it with.

So what am I actually looking for... I want activity, for sure. I'd like to log on at any time of the day and there be anywhere between 10-20 people online. I want to be with players that share my values and care as much as I do and have potential for something great, people I can connect with and give me reason to want to achieve something more in this game. I may not be able to commit to anything now with my gear being what it is, but I'd like to have something to look forward to.

Again, sorry for the length and formalities. At the end of the day, I play this game to enjoy my time, have some laughs, and have fun. Edit: And make memories :]

Meril - read through your posts, and I'm not trying to sell you a line, but I really think you'd fit in really well with our group. I'm Amber Grey with Phantasia (Aegis), actually on as I type this (8:20 CST). We've got 20 people on and active, and that's pretty normal at all hours right nwo. From beginner to new patch dungeons. We are just starting our first raid groups, ran turns 1-4 last weekend. Very low stress, bad jokes, no rage or anger, only fun & we are a mature group of men and women (3 groups play together in real life as husband and wife, which I think is awesome). We have weekly photo nights to mess around, and active forum to stay in touch and a website on the way - as well as a bunch of master crafters, house, and just some fun people. Hey Amber, I really appreciate you taking time to read all that mess, to me that says you really care about the people you bring in and that speaks volumes to me. I'm also talking to people ingame, but your offer is definitely in the top 3 and I want to consider it seriously. I'll be sure to keep you posted on my decision :]

Hi Meril! You might be right at home at our FC. The name is Sons of Poseidon and we are right at the point between hardcore and casual. We are friendly and helpful to all of our members. Rank 8 and currently have a small house. We have mumble server and PS4 voice chats usually. Our appointed raid times are Tuesday, 9:30 PM EST but we're usually online everyday from about 9:00 PM EST til about 2:00 AM EST.

MY question to you: What do you think of the current end-game? Are you wanting to beat Twintania (t5) with a static and go beyond? Let me know! Tell me in game, my in-game name is Sakamoto Faucillien. I'll be on tonight from 9 PM EST-ish.
