Brugaire: A Link Between Vana'diel and Eorzea, or Coincidence?

I've never been a fan of the idea that Vana'diel and Eorzea are linked in any way, but this makes me wonder...

Around Limsa Lominsa, various people in the FFXIV universe are employed by a trade organization named "The Brigaire Consortium," which Bango Zango claims is "World Renowned." The Consortium has several storage warehouses in Limsa, and are well known for being able to procure any item asked of them. However, the highest ranking member I can find is the "Warehouse Foreman" - Wynstin Walder (mentioned only.)

Could it be that this is the same Brugaire Consortium that operated out of San d'Oria's ports? The organization well known for trade business and smuggling, which reaches across all of Vana'diel and The Far East?

Things that make you go, (Hmmmm...)

It's just a throwback, the Uldahn grand company is a great big throwback to Treasures of Aht Urghan from FFXI. The Immortal Flames = The immortals (A group of blue mages), Raubahn (leader of the Uldah company) = Raubahn (Leader? Of the blue mages), Tizona (Raubahn's sword in FFXIV) = Tizona (Blue mage 'mythic' weapon).

They do lots of these little references, and I like zem.

These are just throwbacks and references. If we are to say Final Fantasy games are "linked" because of these little things, then pretty much every game is linked to all the others.

And going slightly off-topic, I should add that I'm surprised there's no Lominsan pirate named "Faris"

It's all part of the lore. Just like how Roegdayn all used to be called "Galka", but when they tried to flee the Bastok Mines, the wardens managed to chop their tails off before they escaped. When they reached new lands (Eorzea) they called themselves Roegdayn to disguise their existence in case Bastok ever came searching for it's runaway slaves.

I've caught a few of the little references, and was hoping this was the same. This one, though, feels a little less like a "Throwback" and a lot more like "Recycling," lol. Just a tad over the overt line.

I wouldn't say it's recycling. There really has been a lot recurring elements in all Final Fantasy games.
it's just part of the series. I don't really remember Brig and Wedge being in XI that's not to say they weren't there
as some obscure NPC. Kind of an Easter egg of sorts. It would be cool to see them come back in this game.

this are just FF elements to make the game feel FF like like cid and his airships, moogles, chocobos, the elements (fire ,ice, wind, water, earth, thunder ((light, dark)) ),tonberries, summon, ect... the list can go on forever. this this are key elements of the FF franchise.

I wouldn't even say they're similar to Cid and airships etc, being as those are very widely known traits of the series. These are sort of like little nuggets put in by the team from XI for the community from that game to recognise. I hope we see more!

that's sad names are recycled that much.
I mean at least change a few letters around and make a new name.
