Again with the pvp problems?

I'm sorry, i'm sure there are plenty of whiny pvp threads but jesus christ pvp is SO bad in this game. Here's the thing, I'm sure plenty of you who have fully formed teams and precise teamwork going on thanks to vent/mumble have a blast with it, because you're usually winning. But pvp needs to be rewarding when you both win AND lose, and currently the only feeling I get from losing is complete rage.

As a caster, I can't do jack shit to anything. Yeah, I can wreck a healer in 3 seconds as a black mage, IF I dont have bard listlessly auto-attacking me to interrupt all my attacks.

I was hoping the more free form Front Lines might be better, but it's really not much different from the arena only that your doing it with 3 other teams in different areas of a map.

So I just wanna know other peoples thoughts on this, am I right? Wrong?

You're dead wrong.

Are you even using your abilities for pvp? Surecast/Equanimity? Sleep/Night Wing? Do you even Aetherial Manipulate? Lethargy/Aether Burst?

What about your gear? Is all your gear sync'd to ilvl 80? Or are you still wearing ilvl 70 garbage for pvp?

There is nothing wrong with Frontlines, but there might be something wrong with you.

I would suggest using your abilities and making use of your terrain. There are many spots on the map to Line-of-Sight those pesky BRDs. A good BLM in Frontlines is real terror. You will make the enemy team remember your name.

Well:
1. The enemy can't see your name. They will just see Black Mage or whatever.
2. Something really has to be done about the interruptions. Even a scratch from a smn pet will interrupt you. Yes, surecast is good. But that won't always help you.
Frontlines needs a little working on for casters. I'm not saying that there should be no interruptions..but seriously. A poke really shouldn't interrupt your cast.

You have swiftcast sleep, a pvp sleep, a massive pvp slow and manaward and you have SPRINT

Manaward is like stoneskin, you take 0 damage until the buff breaks, taking 0 damage means you don't get interrupted

I wish i could have an instant-cast manaward on a white mage, lol

Gasp! You mean other people debuff you and it's making it hard to do your job?

Come on buddy. It's PvP. You're going to be picked on because people rightfully fear what your class is capable of. Black Mage is one of the strongest group destroyers in PvP. Flare spam is brutal without a healer basically churning out recovery magic and even then they can be stopped by the tiniest of hits just like you. Healing my group with my cool downs inactive when I'm being ganged up on is next to impossible too!

And then you have Skyshard, which is so fast you already have to be moving to dodge it. Sure, the debuffs and stuff make Black Mage hard but where would the balance be without it? Every other job is hurt by debuffs too. Can't do much as Dragoon with every DoT under the sun on if Purify is down except slowly watch our HP trickle down. And by slowly I mean quickly.

It's more of a case you not knowing how to be a BLM in PvP, then trying to blame it on something other than yourself

Black mages can be an amazing class in frontlines if you know how to play it, but you also have low hp, which means that other than the healers, you are going to be the focus because (unlike the healers, who are the tanks of PvP) you cannot tank damage to save your life

Also, how in any shape or form is Frontlines like Wolves Den? >_>

Sprint doesn't help if that slow debuff is on me..and purify is in cooldown. That and I've used sprint, just to have the person chase me down and kill me. 90% of the time I'm healing on my sch. Last I checked, sch's don't have a sleep skill. I often can't cast Adloquium or Succor..because they're interrupted. Surecast helps, but it doesn't last long. Don't get me wrong, I've killed people as a healer that has chased me. But I've never played a mmo where I've seen this many interruptions lol

Get a Pocket Healer SCH- you can cast for days. (Aldoqium, Succor, Fey Glow).
If you're annoyed of BRD hitting you simple just move back the farther away your go the less damage they do.
Pro-tip bait them further back into your team. then kill them, pretty simple. Sleep/nightwing/manawall/surecast/equanimity/Lethargy/Swiftcast/Blizzard(Heavy)/ Ethereal Manipulation to a members.

You have plenty of tools utilize them. And i know they're annoying but smack em in the mouth when you see them.
