Thread: 2.3 BiS Bard Equips?

Hey guys, I noticed there's a lot of Best in Slot gears online but many of them focus on 2.2 patches, -some- you find using the Weathered stuff from Soldiery, others the Allagon etc.

But I've noticed a lot of Bards in game (least on Malboro) who are rocking the Saurian Equipment (The crafted one in HQ) and loaded up with Materia. The problem is that now that the patch is still relatively new, I was curious if anyone knows if this Saurian gear has replaced the others in terms of BiS? Or is a sacrificing of Def and Magic Defense to get the added benefit of materia?

Some insight would be helpful, cause I'm to the point where I either start grinding for those, or grinding to get the Soldiery stuff / Sands / Oils etc.

2.2 BiS is still BiS. Pentamelded 90 gear doesn't compare to 110.

Actually, I ran the BiS solver on ariyala before 2.3 hit and was consistently getting i90 gear in my BiS sets. Average ilvl was usually around 105. Granted, it was SkSp heavy, but it still had a higher weight. . .

Considering 1965 MP lasts about a minute and 1 PIE = 8 MP.

2381 PIE needed to sing foe requiem for 10 minutes

But this doesn't take into account natural MP regeneration. I don't know the value for that.

First thing, 1PIE=8MP is wrong for BRD, or any class/job that are not caster. 1PIE = 5.26/5.27MP for BRDs

Battle MP regen is 2% of your max MP.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. Though, I am getting kinda curious why I see so many bards in Malboro rocking out in Saurian. It's not glamour'd either, it's straight up equipped on them and decked out in Materia.

Maybe for frontline?

Nope. Most likely these characters are alternates, or new people who just gained access to coil. Alternately, some of these Saurian pieces when melded are better than the i100 gears until they got their HA BiS drops.

Saurian pants/skirt is largely popular due to Bards having accuracy issues down the line. However, it is now solved in a sense that Syrus Tower drops a very nice i100 accuracy pants.

If you believe in stat weights, they will actually tell you non body/pants crafted left side will be BiS, as well as the new Ramuh ring.
